I’ll pull it ‘round after school and take you for a spin. Should be the smoothest ride you’ve ever felt.
Alright, well, now I have extremely high expectations, so this better be an awesome ride.

Good, because I don’t know where the other two are and you’ve already seen it lit up.
And it was very nice lit up, so I can't wait to ride in it now.
I finished my car.
Anyone seen Amber or Tessa or Rowan? I think they deserve the first test drive.
I would love a test drive!
No, little Lewallen. I don’t work like that… But I like you, so I’ll offer a few of my services.
Here, this is a number for my butler, Jean. He’s a french, and will gladly Skype you and help you study. If you aren’t interested in listening to an old man drone on for thirty minutes about ‘the war’, then go into my locker. There are flash cards and a study sheet that should help. Then again, you didn’t know ‘souvent, oui’ which makes you utterly hopeless, in my eyes.. Just go to Randy McMillian in room 536. He’ll fix your score.
You’re welcome.
You are an angel among humans or a saint or whatever, but I'm sure you knew that. Thank you so much. I might actually get a B then.
Yes?
I think you mean, ‘souvent, oui.’
Do you want to take this test for me?
Le français n’est pas difficile.
Wait, I know this one! Uh, un peu oui.
Trying to study for French is like trying to bake a souffle without an oven.
Don’t tell me, The Great Gatsby?
How'd you know?
I think I was born in the wrong era. I definitely should have lived in the '20s.
Van Houten,
I’m a good person but a shitty writer. You’re a shitty person but a good writer. We’d make a good team. I don’t want to ask you any favors, but if you have time—and from what I saw, you have plenty—I was wondering if you could write a eulogy for Hazel. I’ve got notes and everything, but if you could just make it into a coherent whole or whatever? Or even just tell me what I should say differently.
Here’s the thing about Hazel: Almost everyone is obsessed with leaving a mark upon the world. Bequeathing a legacy. Outlasting death. We all want to be remembered. I do, too. That’s what bothers me most, is being another unremembered casualty in the ancient and inglorious war against disease.
I want to leave a mark.
But Van Houten: The marks humans leave are too often scars. You build a hideous minimall or start a coup or try to become a rock star and you think, “They’ll remember me now,” but (a) they don’t remember you, and (b) all you leave behind are more scars. Your coup becomes a dictatorship. Your minimall becomes a lesion.
(Okay, maybe I’m not such a shitty writer. But I can’t pull my ideas together, Van Houten. My thoughts are stars I can’t fathom into constellations.)
I’d actually prefer the Hello Kitty ones but okay.
I highly doubt you will, though.
And you love cats! It's a wonder all the boys aren't chasing after you.
You know me too well.
So much cooler than saying “Hey let’s go to my room!”
What are you trying to avoid?
You're so right. TO THE BAT CAVE!
History homework. And my loneliness. Whatever.
Guess things don’t really last forever. I wanna go back to those days, though. They were fun.
I know what you mean, I'm not one for for nostalgia, but I really miss those days.
TO THE BAT CAVE!
We might have to take a break after a while. I’m waiting on new parts for my car.
Bat cave?
Hey, the less homework I do, the better.
Very funny, Lewallen.
I thought so too. You know, my cousin has all the Barbie movies, I can ask her if you'd like to borrow them?
I'm sorry, I'll stop.
Would you like me to distract you from homework? You can watch it with me, if you want. I ordered extra cheesy pizza.
You tempt me so. I really shouldn't because I have a lot of homework let's do it.
