bio
Rowan was born to the happy couple, Riley and Kelsey Endsley, in Warwick, Rhode Island in the spring of 1996. Her mother liked to tell her the story of the night she was born, when it was pouring rain and she thought her father was going to crash the car, he was driving so fast. The weather, she told her, was just like her daughter - unpredictable and beautiful all at once.
She grew up happy. Her mother was kind and taught her how to paint, which became one of her favorite past times. She often goes to it in times of distress, in order to clear her mind. Her father worked for the secret service.
Rowan wanted to be a painter growing up - her goal was to go to the Rhode Island School of Design.
Her father was killed during an overseas visit with the President while surveying the area. It was sudden, and no one really knows what truly happened, but when the news came back to the family, both Rowan and her mother were shell-shocked.
Her mother turned inward, and Rowan outward. Kelsey became a ghost, and Rowan threw herself into her studies. Her mother didn’t even blink an eye when she told her she was going to a school away from home. What she hadn’t told her was that the school wasn’t normal, and what she had learned wasn’t either. She was going to be a spy, and she was going to work, just like her father.
She threw herself into her studies - it was the only way she knew how to cope. When she grew older, she found that the mechanism wasn’t exactly healthy. It was when she graduated that she decided to take a few years off and travel. With her withdrawn mother a ghost in her home in Rhode Island, Rowan went and traveled around Europe. She will tell you her favorite place is Amsterdam.
She got the letter to the academy and, without much resistance, accepted it. While she had taken the time to re-find herself after hers of losing her identity in the sorrow of losing her father, she found that she enjoyed being a spy, and that was what she wanted to become.
personality
Rowan can be described in one word and that is: complicated.
She is quick to anger, but only in situations and with people who she cares about. She has a tendency to think before she acts in times of stress.
She is quite friendly; she tries to get along with everyone - it was something that she learned from her father when she was younger.
She can get in her head a lot. This tends to make her quiet and forces her to be distant.
She’s extremely open about what she likes and dislikes. This definitely pertains to people and her sexuality as well.
misc
She likes to paint - it’s her one part of her mother that she hasn’t been able to give up.
She talks to her mother on occasion, but only to make sure that she is still doing okay. She keeps herself updated on the medication her mother takes and the therapists she sees.
She has a tattoo on her rib cage - a water color of a paint brush.
Her favorite weapon are throwing stars.
She wishes she had siblings growing up, because she was often alone, but she also knows that she is glad to know that no one but herself and her mother had to go through the loss of her father.
Her favorite color is scarlet.
Her favorite book is the Great Gatsby.

“ SO, CORGI. i’m telling ya, it’s the way to go, ” he teases. “ that’s exciting. do you have a place picked out and everything ? ” caden almost asks what her mom thinks about her going abroad, but stops himself. “ you should at least stay for the fourth of july, your last american holiday. ”
“i do,” she tells him, nodding her head. “it’s an apartment in north greenwich. definitely a step up from a gallagher dormitory.” cora had helped her find a few places, mainly because she couldn’t ask dimitri for help, given that he lived in dc. “you say that as if i will never be back to america,” she teased. “but the fourth of july was my father’s favorite holiday. it wouldn’t be too much to stay.”
he fully expected questions like these from clement’s family, but he figures that clement’s friends are pretty much like family anyway so it still counts. without confirmation that rowan was either serious or not left drew a bit confused on how to act, but he definitely erred on the safe side. “we’re..dating.” he replies before he turned to look at her, slightly frowning. “come on, you’re gonna tell me that as a scare tactic?” even if it worked. what did he have? tsunami survival skills?
rowan nodded her head, because she suspected as such, but that didn’t mean that she wasn’t going to try and delve for more information. she looked at him expectantly, raising an eyebrow at him. “am i going to have to prove it to you before you believe me? because i think i can take you.” she looks him up and down with a smirk that alerts him she’s definitely teasing him. “hurt him and i’ll maim you.” her voice was sweet, and she looked away and took a sip of her drink.
“yeah, i wasn’t convinced that gallagher was real and i wasn’t being, like, punk’d or something until i actually got here,” she laughed. “nope!” tickets were far too expensive, and not a lot of artists that she was interested in came to her hometown. “i think technically this is my concert virginity, but if i’m ever in london we should go to another one.”
“some of us didn’t have the luxury of being surprised,” rowan teased. she had gone to a spy prep school, following in her father’s foot steps long before gallagher was even an option. “i’m sure it was a shock.” she nodded her head, because she did have a point. “you think you’ll ever head that way?” she asked, licking her lips and looking out to the dance floor, and definitely not at her. “i wouldn’t mind if you visited.”
“I said what I said” he teased back. After four years of seeing the same faces, hearing the same voices and being around the same people it would be odd getting used to a reality where he had to see them once a year, if he was lucky enough that is. Looking at her hand and then at her, he nodded as he gently took it into his own. “Never thought you would ask”
she smiled wider, intertwining their fingers and tugging him toward the dance floor. “i hope you’re a better dancer than most of the others i’ve danced with tonight,” she teased, taking her hands and placing one into his and the other on his shoulder. “alec stepped on my toes at least twice.” jokingly, she rolled her eyes, letting him know she was teasing. she paused for a long moment. “when were you going to tell me about this whole... you and drew situation?” she asked, raising an eyebrow at him expectantly.
HE’S HEARD THAT BEFORE A LOT, so hudson can only smile and let out a laugh. it’s also not a secret to anyone who knows him that he wants to work with the peace corps one day. “ isn’t gallagher all about training female bonds ? ” he raises a brow inquisitively. “ but fair enough. that’d be nice, i’d love to, ” he says, honestly. hudson’s not sure he could swing the money for that anytime soon, but it’s nice to know he has another friend in london, after imogen.
“you know, that is a fair point,” she agreed, nodding her head with a continued smile on her face. her cheeks were starting to hurt, she was smiling so much. god, she missed him! “lou and jo plan to visit. lou’s boyfriend works for the same agency, so i’m hoping to see her often.” she doesn’t admit out loud how nervous she is about moving somewhere she knows no one.
if she were a sim, her plumbob would be on the fritz, sparking green because nothing could ruin this night. she’s finding it hard to focus on anything when beyonce’s going to take the stage soon, but her path to the standing area is is riddled with faces she can’t bare not to talk to, rowan included. ‘ did you find hudson ? ’ she knows they were close. ‘ did you know that’s his last name ? ’
“of course,” she said, a smile on her face, because she was so happy that hudson was here! she had missed him more than she realized. with everything going on, it was nice to see a familiar face and relaxed her in the way that hudson did. “and yes,” she laughed. “i think hudson fits him though. better than any other nickname for richard. imagine everyone calling him dick?”
“ YOU SHOULD BE, ” she pushes. “ you better not let anything get in your way, alright ? you’re rowan fucking endsley. ” the kiss on her head, though cute, has jo making a face. she just can’t help it. “ i doubt that. ” but she also doesn’t like the idea of being replaced with a british version of herself.
“i’m rowan fucking endsley!” she repeats, and brings her hand up to cheers the exclamation, not really caring about some of the looks that are sent her way. she brings her drink back down and takes a sip, looking over at her friend and smirking slightly. “i promise that both you and lou will always be my number ones.” she bumps jo with her hip.
“You know I can’t dance right?” Alec reminded her. He had many skills, mostly those of the physical variety, but dancing was not one of them. He had two left feet. But Alec was smart enough to not argue with his friend, especially tonight. “Lead the way,” he said with a smile as he held his hand out to her.
“it’s just casual swaying back and forth. you’ll be fine,” she tells him, waving off his concern. it was not as if she wasn’t familiar with his two left feet - they’d danced together a number of times before. she grabs his hand with a grin, intertwining their fingers as she drags him to the dance floor. rowan pulls him close, wrapping her arms around his shoulders. “so how’s the fancy job in dc?” she asked, raising her eyebrows expectantly. “any women in your life i should worry about?”
“ WHAT’S WRONG WITH CORIGS ? they’re cute. i would’ve gotten one if they had any at the shelter – and lucy hadn’t been there too. ” because let’s be real, he would’ve chosen lucy over any dog. she’s his baby. caden has no idea what a staffy is, but he nods anyway. flashing her a smile, he leads her to the dance floor, arms moving around her carefully. “ when do you go to london ? ”
“there’s nothing wrong with corgis,” she replies, laughing softly. they just seemed a little too cutesy for her. plus, she was going to be living alone in a new city; a corgi wasn’t exactly an attack dog. rowan takes his hand, placing her other against his upper arm, just below his shoulder, and starts with the rhythm of the music. “beginning of july,” she tells him. “i’m supposed to spend some time with lou and jo in dc, then i go back to rhode island for a few weeks. to pack up all my shit. you know.” she shrugs.
“What can I say? I always have to show up and outdress everyone.” Though, despite his joking words, his arms wrapped around her as well as he pulled her close. “I’ve missed you too,” Emmett said softly, lips dipping into a slight frown during the seconds she couldn’t look up at him. But when they pulled away, the smile was back, as if nothing was wrong. “Thank you, glad to be back.” A beat. “Are you okay? I heard that this year was a mess!”
rowan looked over emmett’s face, trying to see how he was really doing, to see if he was lying to her, but when she found nothing, she let it go. “i’m fine,” she said, shrugging her shoulders. “stuff about my dad got out from the book, but it’s nothing i can’t handle.” she didn’t really know any of the double agents, so she didn’t feel as betrayed as some of her classmates. she squeezed emmett’s arm earnestly. “dance with me,” she urged, offering her friend her hand.
CHUCKLING LIGHTLY, hudson smiles down at her. “ nothing set in stone yet, but i want to look up some volunteering opportunities with the peace corps. maybe go back to school in a year or two. ” there’s certainly not a lack of options for him, which is both overwhelming and amazing. “ london, really ? ” he doesn’t bother to hide the surprise in his voice. “ wow, congrats. so you’ll be the next bond ? ” he teases.
“that seems fitting for you,” she agreed, nodding her head in understanding. whatever he did, rowan believed he would be amazing at it. shrugging her shoulders, rowan smiled almost sheepishly. “the world needs a female bond, don’t you think?” she asked teasingly. “too bad i’m not actually british.” damn her american citizenship! “you’ll have to come visit me,” she tells him.
“ MAYBE YOU COULD GET A DOG OF YOUR OWN. a british one, ” he adds, as if that means anything. “ you could get a corgi, like the queen. ” corgi’s are really cute. her offer makes him smile, nodding. “ i’ll take you up on it. but for now, ” caden offers her his hand. “ one last dance ? ”
“could you really see me owning a corgi?” she asked, eyebrows furrowed as she looked at him skeptically. “maybe an english pointer, or a staffy.” rowan looked down at caden’s hand for a long moment before reaching out and covering his hand with hers. “one last dance,” she tells him, and starts toward the dance floor.
“oh, right.” things were about to change for her, but not nearly as much as things would be changing for the graduates. “good,” elliot smiled. “honestly, i keep forgetting she’s here. which sounds crazy, i know, like how could i forget.” beyonce being at gallagher is high levels of crackhead energy and she knows it. “i’ve never been to a real concert, and i don’t think this really counts, but it’s still cool.”
“sometimes things are a little too impossible to believe until they’re right in front of you,” she pointed out, laughing softly. which was how she was feeling. she wouldn’t ever think she’d see beyonce at such a small school like gallagher. “you’ve never been to a concert?” she asked, frowning slightly. “we’ll have to go to one together. i’ll take your concert virginity,” she teased.
“Die-hard. I live for Queen Bey,” Alec drawled out in return, smirking down at her. Honestly he was shocked that the school had gotten the superstar, though he wasn’t as excited for the concert as some of their peers. “Maybe I missed it here a little.”
“Queen Bey? Now that is something that I would never have thought would come out of your mouth,” she laughed, shaking her head with a smile still on her face. She offered her his hand, wiggling her fingers. “Care to dance? For ol’ time’s sake,” she teased. “And really? You can’t say no.”
“See, you get it. Pride is blue, an underused color, but so traditional.” Yes, she’d thought all about this. The deeper emeralds of envy, probably ones she’d have accented with a black. “Oh, mermaids are so out, Rowan. I can’t be a runaway bride if I can’t run,” sticking her tongue out, it wasn’t clear if the blonde was kidding or not. “Are you going to stay in touch or cut everyone off?” Being a third year was already feeling grim.
“blue, huh?” she asked, raising an eyebrow. she’d never really thought about the different colors that could correspond to the seven deadly sins, but thinking about it now, she’d say pride would definitely be purple. “touche,” she laughed, shaking her head. “no mermaids then. though you’d look amazing in it,” she pointed out. “i’ll stay in touch with some people,” she admitted, shrugging her shoulders. “though i’m sure i’ll lose touch with some. i find that sometimes you’re friends with people because of proximity only.”
