My thoughts on everything going on with TADC and its cast is that there are some black fans of the show who forgive Ashley, Michael, and Goose for the racism. There are a LOT more black fans who do NOT forgive Ashley, Michael, and Goose for the racism.

And there are WAYYYY too many nonblack fans who think that they get to forgive Ashley, Michael, and Goose for the racism and that the black fans just need to get over it or that it wasn't racist (despite Michael explicitly stating they were being racist).

And thanks to how abysmally handled it's all been, the already overwhelmingly white fanbase has suddenly decided to go mask-off I'm-Not-Touching-You racist.
