I find the last photo very telling...Sam's hands are positioned as if he's pulling Caitriona's body into his chest. Much like a husband, partner, SO would do. Is that proper protocol for a co-star, even one of 11 years?? His protective mode is very evident...🧐

First of all, thanks to @margareth-lv and @outlanderskin for bringing these photos back today.

And since we have them here, perhaps it’s worth taking a closer look at a rather interesting contrast.

Let’s start with the black-and-white photo of Sam and MM.

Because, as we can see, it is perfectly possible to capture a wedding moment that feels genuinely romantic and intimate. The framing, the body language, the atmosphere… it all does exactly what a wedding photograph is supposed to do.

And then we move inside the ceremony.

Same wedding. Same couple.

And, well… the contrast rather speaks for itself, doesn’t it?

Which is precisely why context can be such an inconvenient little thing. When we have access to the moment as a whole - video footage, or simply a sequence of photos rather than one carefully selected frame - quite a few little stories tend to fall apart rather quickly.

Sometimes a photograph is simply a photograph. And sometimes putting a few of them next to each other makes the whole thing considerably more interesting.

For context, unless I’m mistaken, the ceremony photos came from the official wedding material, either the album itself or footage shared by the wedding photographer.

Quite a fascinating little comparison.
