So, I was thinking about your story and a thought came to me about Emily and Marinette.

How is it that Marinette has survived so long after her Catalyst exposure with so few side effects? Sure, she has the mutations, the chronic exhaustion, and the DID, but the last two could easily have been caused by her general lifestyle and the mutations are both benign as far as we have seen. Marinette is young, small, and malnourished as a small child suffering from neglect and abuse. Plus she is constantly being exposed to multiple miraculi daily with at lease two cases of direct exposure from both Catalyst incidents (one of which exposed her to two miraculi at once) and the "Black Storm Dragon" which may or may not count. Meanwhile, Emily was full grown adult when she first used a miraculous and only used that one on and off occasionally yet she got "Chronic Dead Mom Cough". Is there something I'm missing?

Additionally, did Emily have any Peacock mutations before she died/went comatose?

The main difference between Marinette and Emilie comes down to how the magic was infecting them and what happened afterwards.

Emilie used a BROKEN miraculous. The miraculous was damaged and every time she wore or used it the magic of the miraculous would seep into her body. The safety measures of the miraculous were still in effect, so like a broken machine, it still attempts to use them. This causes havoc to run rampant in her body. Add in her poor bond with Duusu, making the magic actually trying to save her weak.

Marinette on the other hand, is using a power that destroys the safety features. The power directly bypasses the safety features, which means they don't try to 'help' her. After the power is done, both Plagg and whatever other miraculous she has on work on healing her. Becuase Marinette has so much Trust with the kwami the miraculous work overtime to save her.

So to put simply, because Emilie and Gabriel didn't trust the kwami and kept using a broken miraculous her body broke down and she grew sick.

Marinette used a technique that broke the safty features but still kept the miraculous undamaged. Add on that she has other miraculous that are working overtime to keep her healthy and she walks away with only some mutations and her slowly loosing her mind.

Emilie didn't have any mutations. Her sickness was because the magic didn't have anything in her body to interact with, along with the safety features attempting to fix her.

Marinette's mutations are caused by the magic breaking down her body's limits to give her more power, followed by the magic of the miraculous's safety features, and then repairing said damage.

My take on what did the Wish think while choosing Bread to be the next Cat:

-Wish: "Now that the Ring has fallen into your hands, and after all your suffering, you'll use it to take revenge on those who-"

-Cue Bread just taking care of Plagg and not using the Miraculous.

-Wish:"Wait, what?"

-Mini-Bread:"I don't want Plagg to hate me, so I'll never misuse the Miraculous. I'll never become evil."

-Wish:"..."

-Cue Bread becoming a beloved superheroine and helping people, so it's not possible to make her evil.

-Wish: "Well, f$ck. What the hell do I do now!?" -Cut back to the Wish sensing Fu's presence in the city-"Oh, I got it..."

That is pretty much it but to add a little onto it...

Wish: Oh hey, it looks like the cat is going to get an alley? Can't have that!

Emilie: Oh no! *Coughs to death*

Gabriel: I will bring you back!

Wish: Well that worked out better than expected! (Grabs popcorn) Might need to protect the idiot, though.

Hi. Could you explain or give more examples for the power called Dissimation.

Sure.

Alright so let's say Marinette had the butterfly and after using it makes a champion of Kagami. Kagami now Onna-Musha has her basic powerset but now Mariposa uses a power-up potion. Let's say the purple one to make it simple. It is after using the potion that she then uses Dissimation.

Dissimation takes the potion's granted power and gives Onna-Musha some of it. Both now have the power of flight and some of the suit's protective nature. How the power is split is up to either the user, the champion, or it can be left up to the kwami. All depending on the user who calls on the power.

Now onto the reverse use of this skill. Let's say that Mariposa is hit by Venom or another power that impedes her movement. Using Dissimation this power takes the power of Venom inflicted onto Mariposa and gives some of it to Onna-Musha so that Mariposa can now move, if stiffly while her champion is now slowed.

Is Bread's mental split a side effect of Catalyst? Or is it the corruption of the ring caused by the wish finally setting in? Or some other secret third option.

The Wish choose Marinette becuase she was a victum of bullying and a descendent of one of Tikki's bugs. If the Wish succseded then it would be a devistaing blow to the last thread of hope Tikki had in Plagg.

Bread's mental condition is mainly due to her circumstances. Being bullied by Chloe and everyone else has not had a good effect on her. Everyone loves Cheshire while to Bread Marinette brings nothing but bad things.

The Wish only has so much energy due to how little the Order is benefiting now from it. So because Cheshire was such an active hero, despite how miserable Chloe made Marinette, it was much easer for the Wish to make the Order the villain. As for why Cheshire never became a villain, it was partly due to Plagg's teachings, but also not wanting to disappoint the various kwami. Marinette/Cheshire could never stand disappointing the only person who cares about her. Then after getting Trixx she wanted to prove that she was worthy of his and the others kwami's trust.

Her heritage only gives her a bit more knowledge and a small, small, amount of luck.

I figured that the Wish wouldn't be as active without the Order there to be countered by a Cat, especially since Fu was the last member alive as of this point in the story. I also knew that Bread was being a hero because of Plagg, I just didn't realize that her need for friends and validation were so strong that it could overwhelm the Wish, or that the Wish was always active even after the fall.

Was Fu's mistake also caused by the Wish or just a happy little accident?

Yeah, The Wish didn't have much to work with. As for Fu, his accident was internally his own.

As for Bread's need for validation. Yeah, that was something the Wish didn't account for. The Wish is powerful, but it isn't all-powerful or all-knowing. Often, it had to realign things to get them back on track.

Could I ask what are the differences between lucky break and artifice?

Lucky Break fully transforms the weapon into another object. For example, the yoyo fully transforms into a shield or a pair of rollerblades. The only limit is the creativity of the user.

Artifice adds a function to a weapon. Smoke screen generation to a flute. A string to recall the shield. It adds a trick but the weapon remains the same and can't be altered too much. A sufficiently creative user though, will make up for this limit.

When it comes to powers what are the differences between a senti monster and a guardian?

Each champion created by the butterfly holder has a weakness or not?

Hello! I have read your works and I have many things to ask you!

Is there any way to break the mind control of the bee miraculous? Through willpower maybe?

Can an adult use the secondary powers multiple times?

Is the durability of the shelter only determined by the trust of the kwami and the holder? For example, is willpower important to this?

What could count as a performance in order for the power of the peacock to work?

When lucky charm requires creativity and when skill or something else. For example, during Alix being akumatized Misterbug received a sword. If it is due to his personality then why some lucky charms of his require more creativity?

Can Chesire control the extent of destruction? If yes, then could she create something via her power? For instance, by cataclysm a train could she create projectiles?

Lastly, there is a chapter Animan maybe, when Misterbug's bond is brought up due to him not having winter hibernation. And generally we haven't seen him use a secondary power of the Ladybug Miraculous. Why is that so? Did Tikki not fully trust him at that time? Or is it because he is not meant for that miraculous? (If you want, could you provide us some of the Ladybug animal characteristics)

The bee miraculous's mind control or Venom could be overcome through willpower. If one were to attempt to overcome it though it would be the victim's willpower vs the baseline power and the Trust the user has. This also applies to the amount of control a butterfly user has over their Akumas.

The durability of Shellter is determined by Trust. Willpower could be used to fix any damage done to the Shellter.

Lucky Charm changes on who uses it and the situation. For example when used by Marinette it allows her to make complicated plans and use everything to her advantage. Meanwhile Adrien is much more straightforward so it gives him Charms that are straightforward for him to use. However, if the situation would work better with the help of others, then it will be used by another besides the ladybug user. Essentially, the Lucky Charm will always, if used properly, lead to success.

Any cat user could control the Cataclysm with trust, improving the control. However, the power kinda acts like a flamethrower or some other kinda device where you can make beautiful artwork, but it requires a lot of control and practice.

Trust takes a while to build, and the side effects a bit longer to show. Adrien has only had a few months at best, so just give him time. Although if he gets scared the boy will play dead. Other chartistics he could develop are, temptation to eat Aphids, a want to constly be in nature, and a desire to paint or cover things he cares about in bright colors to scare others off.

Hi! From my question about guardians I meant whether the creatures created by Rapture can have similar powers to sentimonsters or not? Are there any differences besides the 30 second time limit and the object of control?

Oh, well, besides the time of their existence, they are also less sentient/aware. More comparable to advanced drones or the like than Senties. In terms of power, they get quick, simple-to-use powers. Where as Sentimonsters can have more open flexable powers, those created by Rapture are programs. Does that help? Did I explain it well?

Hi! Out of curiosit, what is your headcannon for Gabe not akumatizing himself and gain the power of time travel or ressuruction of the dead? If you do not have one for canon what about your AU. Can he self akumatize and grant him the power or it would require a more specific situation as it isn't like the rooster and it cannot grant you powers just by saying so?

I don't think the show ever gave a straightforward response. The best I think we got is the Collector episode, where it showed that in order to Akumatize themselves, Gabriel has to detransform before he could be Akumatized. Now why doesn't he lend the butterfly to Nathalie so she could Akumatize him? He's a control freak who doesn't trust anyone besides himself. I don't think the Butterfly can choose powers outright. That it mostly comes down the emotions/soul of the one being corrupted. Now I also believe that much like the Rooster it can't copy powers outright. It can probably get close like with Copycat and Antibug but outright is not possible. Now why doesn't Gabriel go for the obvious answers? (Time travel or healing?) Best guess he is an idiot and the miraculous is corrupting him to be more focused on defeating the other miraculous holders rather than helping his wife.

Greetings. I have read your story and honestly I am amazed by it. I have some important questions to ask though.

According to your opinion what type of person should be a cat or a butterfly, peacock? For instance, Cherise is shown to use plenty of miraculous but according to Tikki she isn't a cat.

What functions could Artifice add to the flute?

In your opinion, what are the weaknesses of the butterfly miraculous. Can Gabriel in your AU self-akumatize?

What is the advantage of a Mega Akuma or Grand Champion? Do akumatized villains have a weakness or if the emotion is powerful enough there won't be any? What I mean is that for example Lady WiFi needs internet, while Minerva isn't shown to have a particular weakness.

Is there any major difference between sentimonsters and guardians except the time limit and the amok controller?

Last but not least, have you any tips when it comes to power? From what I have seen your powers in your AU are very creative. Where do you inspiration?

Destined are somewhat nebulous. Essentially, what makes a good Cat or Butterfly can vary somewhat. For the most part, though, it is something that the kwami see in the user's soul or personality. Even though someone may be a Destined it doesn't mean that they are prevented from using other miraculous. All it means though is that they will just not be as powerfull with that miraculous as they could be with the one they were Destined for.

Artifice can change the flute to whatever the fox users could want. Like it could be used to generate a smokescreen. Suddenly have a hidden dagger or shield. Become a keyboard so the fox can hack into nearby electronics.

Now as for Mega or Grand that is a bit harder. In my AU they would be an upgrade to the normal akuma. For example if Lady Wi-Fi were to become a Mega, then she would no longer be limited to Wi-Fi or would no longer need her phone to cast her spells. This is also where I would put group Akumas.

Now, as for the weakness of Akumas, I would say that all Akumas's have a weakness but they aren't all as obvious as Lady Wi-Fi's. For instance Minurva's Pride was boosted so she never once could foresee her defeat.

The diffrince between Akuma/Sentimonsters and Champions/Guardians is the energy and emotions used to make them. Because Akumas/Sentimonsters were made with dark emotions and magic, they are inherently more villainous and dark in nature.

Now as for powers. I think it comes to looking around for insperation. Like for the power Miraculous powers I just looked at various myths regarding the animals, along with synonyms for the ideas they represent.

Hey! I would like to ask you something.

How can the rooster copy someone's power through Aspiration?

To make it a bit clearer, Aspiration can only somewhat copy another miraculous's power. The power can only replicate the powers of any other miraculous around it. Also the power copied can only get as close to 80% the strength of the original.

Now, as for how the copied power works that is largely left up to chance. For example, if Aspiration was used on Lucky Charm, it would create a random unlucky item or lucky item that would only last for a minute. With Shellter, it wouldn't be a full bubble or it would be much weaker than the original.

What are your thoughts on potential miraculi in other mother boxes? Such as the north American one. We know what the eagle one is and does, but what would you make the other four or five kept in there?

I would maybe do five or so for the other miraculous boxes. As for the other miraculous I would add for the North American one... If I was going to, I would add a bear, a crow, a crocodile, and a beaver.
