What I love about Q is that he comes to Picard with the intention of testing the human condition and prying out some of the ‘primitive’, ‘violent’ nature that he expects from humans. And this doesn’t work on Picard but as SOON as a different captain is like slightly meaner to him he scurries off all butt hurt about it.

if I had a nickel for every time john de lancie played an embodiment of chaos that occasionally showed up to ruin the main characters' day by sending them to other dimensions and making them do silly side-quests and ended up falling in love with the person you'd least expect him to get attached to, I'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice
