crona-is-ready-to-deal-with-this:
……Always keep your defenses up.
Turn your mind off? Let go of the knowledge that anyone could flip a switch and try to kill you? No, not even in your sleep. That would be idiotic.
You can rest, but keep your ears open for any attackers. You never know when they could strike. They could even-
“Wakey wakey~It’s your turn…”
Someone was touching them. What was it their turn for?! What was going on?!!
Crona’s eyes snapped open, their usual dark eyes lighting up in an iris hue. Their body jerked as they sprang forward onto the stranger, pinning their arms to the ground.
Act fast. Swift. They wouldn’t be killed in their sleep. They needed to act first. Use their blood to-
Before Crona could summon Ragnarok and finish what their instincts instructed them to do, their mind slowly began to clear up as they realized who it was they had just jumped on.
“R-Ruby!” Crona gasped, leaping off of her immediately. Stupid! Stupid! Stupid! What if they hadn’t snapped out of it?! What if they had actually hurt her?!! Couldn’t they do anything right?? Couldn’t they even sleep one night among friends without losing their mind??
Acting quickly, the swordsman grabbed Ruby’s empty sleeping bag and threw it over her body, covering her up completely. “I-I uh, pushed you on the ground because I was trying to tuck you in! Sorry if I was a bit rough there! I don’t know my own strength sometimes! Haha!”
They zipped over and pulled the bag down so it was tucked under Ruby’s chin. They gave a nervous smile, not even registering that this was not how you used a sleeping bag. “So um, rest easy now! I’ll stay up for four hours! Two for me, and two for Ragnarok! Sleep well!” They then jerked to their feet awkwardly while heading to the nearest tree, trying and failing to look as cheerful and non-panicked as possible.
Well, that was a shock, to say the least.
A small yelp came from the huntress as she was unexpectedly attacked, but it wasn’t loud enough to wake the others. Her back slammed against the ground, causing a small puff of dirt to rise. Confusion ran through her, eyes wide. Not quite with fear, however. It was mostly pure shock.
Just as quickly as they jumped onto her, Crona got up from Ruby, letting go of her arms. Before she could even sit up, she was hit with something else. It was her sleeping bag. “Gya-!” Honestly, for a moment she just kind of accepted it. What she didn’t accept was Crona’s lie.
Ruby knew that look in a person’s eye.
Sitting up, silver eyes followed to where Crona moved. It was obvious by the way they moved that they were freaked out. Ruby looked at them, worried what they might be thinking. She was worried too. Not just for her, though.
