Cecil Collins - Angel images

I love the muted earthy tones and use of a single colour palette. And some of the simple less realistic depictions of angels too. Think this could work quite well black and white with print making. May try it on the weekend.

So taken by Tyne Gordon’s paintings.. Mostly painting with oil on metal such as aluminium, these piece move me to the core omg!

So into Sydney based artist Mia Middleton. I love her close up moody macro shots. The quality of the painting is super satisfying. The paintings draw you in by making you imagine cinematic stills that conjure a romantic sinister sort of energy. Feels like a sexy murder mystery where something slightly unnerving is happening and I want to be in on the secret. Composition always slightly off center. High quality oil realism but abstract in their sensibility.

My favourite musician at the moment. I don’t know if she has a Catholic background but I love her dark droney organ sounds that feel both churchy and anti-church. Feels like deep brain stimulation.

I like this album cover and it make me want to get more into photoshop and screen printing. Even though I’m inspired by anti-design chaos and colour still very drawn to space, muted tones, things with a sparse quality.

Enjoying looking at anti-design. Wondering how much it relates to the anti-design of the anti-design movement that emerged during the 1960′s.

Just been watching some clips of Isadora Duncan because I used her a reference for an image I’m working on studying a bit of graphic design history. 

I love so many of her quotes, but this is probably the most memorable:

Laszlo Moholy-Nagy

Hungarian rtist, activist, writer, polymath

Moholy-Nagy was the first interwar artist to suggest the use of scientific equipment such as the telescope, microscope, and radiography in the making of art. With Lucia, he experimented with the photogram; the process of exposing light-sensitive paper with objects laid upon it. His teaching practice covered a diverse range of media, including painting, sculpture, photography, photomontage, and metalworking

He believed that artists should transform into designers, and through specialization and experimentation find the means to answer humanity's needs.
