Taking a break from Twitter

I am going to take a break from twitter after using it actively for almost 9 months now

I first started twitter as a gimmick account for the game battle cats, as i heard about a large community of people doing it from someone on a discord server

It was genuinely very fun for a bit. However over time the trend died down, and I decided to become a normal account, interested in posting my art (also related to battle cats). For a while, my art actually got a lot of attention. However my art unrelated to the game was getting far less traction

At some point I lost interest in the game, and played it far less. I had interests in other things, other things that I would draw, and I didn't feel like drawing battle cats. However this other art, as said before, got very little attention, and when it did, it was from the same people in the battle cats community before. They were just conditioned to like my art as they saw my posts pass by while scrolling by

I've realized that twitter has been harmful to my mindset on art. Before, I knew that nobody would see my art. But now, that I've gotten a taste of attention, I crave it more. Before I didn't care at all. I just drew shit cause it was cool. And from now on, I'lll try to continue that way. It'll be hard to get into this new mindset, but ill try.

I will still use twitter, to post my art very occasionally but nothing else. I will be trying to use tumblr more, and maybe Bsky??? I will not be posting anything battle cats related unless i actually feel like drawing battle cats. not caring about like is hard. Its still painful to see other artists getting lots of attention and praise, while I don't, but I must remember to do art for only myself.
