Sam & Emily's confrontation was pretty intense, huh?
(I'm posting these on twitter as well, you can follow @Jigeumun_ if you wanna see me having a Dickinson brainrot)
All this manipulation, gaslight, lies, mansplain, and an attempt to steal her poems yet he has the nerve to say "I'm a feminist" I hated this guy so much. I'm glad that we got rid of him
Breaking down the reviews/teaser pics & making guesses about what we can see in the finale
-Lavinia & Ship breaking up. We all know she won't get married and that plot should be left in s2 so we have to see a goodbye between them
-According to the episode description, the whole town go to Jane's baby's christening. So there can be some scenes from that. I expect seeing some Jane Austin moments.
-Emily & Sam won't go there. The description suggests that while everyone go to the christening, she tries to get her poems back from Sam. So there will be this subplot too.
-We saw that Sue is in Emily's room while they are fighting. So
1) She also didn't go to the christening. My guess for this one is: we will see Sue & Austin having an argument about the miscarriage. Sue will get mad at Emily for telling him despite she swore not to in 2x01. And instead of leaving with Austin, she goes to confront Emily about not keeping her promise. This obviously backfires as Emily says "I don't even recognize you" at some point. Later Sue confesses her love for Emily
2) Or Sue will go to the christening but will leave early to visit Emily (the rest is the same as 1st one)
-The crawling scene...
The one that we expected the most... See, this could be another dream sequence but Alex Zalben's reaction to a question about this scene suggests that he didn't expect them to put this in the promos. So it should be an important scene?
This review also says that Emily & Sue will have a moment in the finale. And unless they are talking about the opera episode, they also say that one of their scenes will rival and even surpass the volcano scene. Now, I really hope they are not talking about the opera scene because it is in no way capable of rivaling the volcano scene lol. So let's assume it's gonna be in the finale.
-In the photo, Sue is not looking at Emily but we can never know the context... Maybe it's intentionally that way to make us think there's a third person.
Anyway, the intimate scene can be a reach but one thing for sure: Emily & Sue will talk about their feelings and will end the season on a better note than their current state. My one concern is that it will seem forced. Imagine how much time could be spent on Emily & Sue if there are other stuff that I mentioned earlier too??
What do you think?
š
My thoughts on this episode. I'm disappointed by the way they released that Emily pic (where she's in her blue dress) and made us think the fight would happen this week.
ā// Dickinson spoilers -They literally left everything important to the finale which i don't believe will live up to the expectations. I ju
EmiSue fight & the crawling scene will be in 2x09?
I want Emily & Mary Bowles to form voltron and attack Sue & Sam /hj
This still hurts so much
Dickinson is not queer baiting you.
Emily and Sue had their moments. They had their love affairs and their innocent touches, and their not so innocent ones, but at this point itās ignorant to assume they end up together.
Sue and Austin had three kid together, they remained right across from the Dickinson home until the end. Emily died on May 15th 1886 and Sue lasted 13 years without her soulmate on this earth- and YES itās sad. But itās what happened.
Dickinson is taking a lot of liberties, but them not taking liberties in this is not queer baiting.
I recommend watching the movie Wild Nights with Emily. As far as I know, Dickinson scholar (and one of the editors/writers of the book Open Me Carefully) Martha Nell Smith was part of the movie's creating process. An endgame doesn't have to have them running away together. Austin had an affair, they could too. To be honest, I didn't ask for any more EmiSue after season 1 ended but they created this expectation with their interviews & marketing style. They said EmiSue was the central love story of the show. They just talked about it so much that I thought there would be EmiSue and it'd be important. Yes, I can't say they are queerbaiting 100% but they didn't deliver what they said so far so I can understand why people feel queerbaited.
I'll headcanon this Dickinson x Dear Evan Hansen crossover. Yup, Emily wrote that letter to Sue, yup!

theory: why does Emily feel invisible in episode 8? what's Sam's deal?!
As you can see from the synopsis, Emily goes invisible. Let's discuss the possibilities.
First of all, I think the main reason Sam is interested in Emily is because he's trying to get her father invest in the newspaper. And maybe Emily realizing this could be a turning point for her? Like she knows it's not her work or HER that is important but her father's money? Is that why she goes invisible after her poems are published?
Or there is another possibility as to why she is invisible, maybe she expects too much from a daily newspaper. Her poems are published but 1) not many people read them 2) not many understand them. That's why she doesn't feel seen?
Or it could be that Sam publishes her poems but makes such alterations that erases her soul in the poems which results in her feeling non-existent? Like he erases her artistic identity? In s1, Louisa May Alcott was a published writer but she was like "Write whatever brings you money" and Emily obviously wasn't into that idea. So her change in behavior could be due to this. She isn't the public's writer, she's her writer. Not even Sue but her own.
Or they can go with something cheesy, "Aww these people are not my audience. I don't care about them. All I care about is Sue." which would seem weaker on it's own, in my opinion.
What do y'all think?

my theory regarding next episode
Okay, I can definitely end up as a clown but I just wanted to share my theory about episode 8 and this picture

ācw // spoilers , nsfw Are we ready for episode 8? Linking the reviews talking about the Austin-Sue sex scene that will break Emily's heart
cw // nsfw , spoilers
Okay so, there are two different Dickinson season 2 reviews. In the first one they talk about a "steamy" sex scene between Sue & Austin that will break Emily's heart. In the other they say Emily goes invisible which allows her to inhabit places she wouldn't normally roam into. So let's piece these 3 things together. In the picture we can see Emily is there but Sue is looking at someone else. In this case I think she's looking at Austin. I mean it's not like Sue & Austin would normally have sex in front of Emily, that'd be just weird. So Emily is invisible. That's how she sees/knows about the sex and have her heart broken. I think this theory fits the most.
Now, I have another idea. Is this "invisible" thing just a regular hallucination of Emily that is not happening in real life or something spiritual like the seance? If it's the second one and Austin & Sue actually have sex, Sue may end up pregnant after that.
But these are just my thoughts obviously.
I have another theory on Frazar Stearns & Nobody & episode 9. You can read it here: https://twitter.com/Jigeumun_/status/1355774240004431872?s=19
