“Hey, can you hear me? Are you alright?” (i hope this is ok to send in :,D))
Dwight recognized that voice instantly, but he was feeling too weak to move at all; lying on the floor with his glasses a couple feet away from him with bruises over his body from trying to struggle away from someone’s hold. But he’d failed, and that creature had taken too much from him.
“…D-David… help,” he whispered, shaking on the floor. He’d lost too much blood, it being switched up with something different. Dwight didn’t take his hand off of his neck, trying to hide it. He didn’t want any passerby to see the two little dots on it.

“Close the blinds, I don’t want him to see you in here,” he said as he widened his eyes, putting his hands on both of David’s forearms to look at him but his sight was somewhat blurry.
Finishing the bandaging, he looked up to see Dwight’s wide eyes, and listened, careful not to miss a word. Nodding, he hesitantly pulled himself from him and turned around to see the cracks of small lights. It would be a good idea to close these. After pulling the stick attatched to a string, the blinds shut, and he carried himself back over to the other male.
“Tha’ bloody bastard.. ’m sorry, I really- should’ve been there for ye’. I wish I would’ve been.”
David lowered his head, cautiously grabbing Dwight’s hands in his own, and gave them a soft squeeze. If only he could of been there to protect him, then this wouldn’t have happened. It wasn’t his fault, but he still couldn’t help to think that he could’ve done something if he was there. Now Dwight is in pain, and he HATED seeing it. But he’ll do whatever it takes to help him, in anyway possible.
Being able to be calmer once David moved to close the blinds, he leaned against the back of the couch and closed his eyes with a long sigh; only opening them again when he felt him taking his hands. Dwight looked down and held onto his hands too, then up at him and shook his head.
“It’s not your fault, you don’t have to apologize.” It wasn’t like David had to keep his eyes on him at all times, even if it didn’t sound like a bad idea. “…and you don’t need to stay.”
That wasn’t an obligation either. Dwight was scared because he didn’t really know what would happen next, but if anything bad happened and David had to see it… he didn’t want to imagine anything alike. Instead, he concentrated on the warm feeling of their hands together -it wasn’t particularly warm in that place, and Dwight’s body temperature was way lower than it should.
“I’ll just lie down here and…” What was he supposed to do now? “…and wait.” Having David wait there for the inevitable was a waste of time but he probably only thought so because it was about himself.
"Then I will wait 'ere with you." David hadn't a thought about leaving Dwight, he couldn't! After everything.. he still blamed himself, even after hearing Dwight's kind words, his own echoed awfully in his mind.
The rugged scrapper let the leader lay on his side, on the couch, and instead, put his hand on Dwight's back, with a gentle rub to reassure him he wasn't leaving.
Or did he want him to leave? Whatever the case was, he was too stubborn to just up, and go home. He cared way too much about him to do that.
"Well, I can get ye to bed, but if yer comfortable there, I won't bother.." He offered, as he took his hand back and instead, placed it on his shoulder.

“Mm, jus’ pepperoni or supreme.”
As Ace propped himself back, David leaned forward almost following his movements. He then took notice of how calm the argentinan man was, and then quickly looked off to his shoulder.
’He probably thinks your weird, cause yer actin’ like it.’
Taking a deep breath he squeezed his hand a little harder, but not harsh and rubbed his face with his free hand.
“But Ace, mind if I ask ye somethin’? Doesn’t ‘ave to be right now but it’s a lil’ important, at least to ease m'curiosity.”
Ace shrugged slightly.
“Why don’t you surprise me and pick something for me?”
He tilted his head when David’s grip on his hand squeezed tighter and when David rubbed his face.
“Sure, I don’t mind at all. Whenever you wanna ask, go ahead.”
"Well, ok.. that sounds fine."
David did not want to let go of it, he'd hold onto that hand forever if he could. But he didn't want Ace to wait, so he stood up, slowly releasing his hand and walked off to the counter.
Only fifteen minutes later, and he had a box in hand along with a plastic cup and lid filled with soda.
He cautiously sat the pizza in the box down in front of him, along with the cup and sat back down.
"Thought it'd be a nice ta' get ya' supreme y'know? You can 'ave whatever toppings and take off anything else you don't want. Yeah?"

“I think so. You got ta’ at least give it a try, chap.”
Once David had caught Ace’s attention, he whipped his head towards the large doors. Opening for Ace to enter, the family aroma immediately rose. Though greasy, the warm scent and colorful decor was rather welcoming to him. It reminded him that there were certain times where he could just relax and he wanted to share that with Ace.
Bringing his focus back to the gambler he easily pulled him to the nearest table, close to the large window. Taking a seat, David still had a tight hold on Ace’s hand which was now on the table.
He shakily exhaled a deep sigh, and let it be. It was much softer then his own, more delicate in a sense. He didn’t constantly swing his fist at strangers and bathe it in blood. He didn’t have have lasting scars or scabs over his fingers. No, they were nice. It felt different, but this different was very nice.
“What would you like ta’ order Ace?”
Ace couldn’t help laughing.
“I’m willing to try a lot of things at least once. I’m not a very judgmental guy.”
He hung the hanger on the back of the chair, still grinning with his hand being held tightly by David. His eyes widened slightly at the sigh, but decided to let it be. He shrugged and leaned back in the chair.
“Dunno. What do you usually get?”
"Mm, jus' pepperoni or supreme."
As Ace propped himself back, David leaned forward almost following his movements. He then took notice of how calm the argentinan man was, and then quickly looked off to his shoulder.

Oh, great. So he was serious about this.
David rolled his eyes in response, and hurriedly stepped to the entrance. The male pushed the heavy doors open, tugging a happy Ace along. “Well, love.” He gritted his teeth, “Where do you want to eat? There’s plenty o’ choices ‘round ‘ere. I was thinking somewhere nice, yeah?”
Stepping out into the light again, David squinted. He picked out some of the few restaurants around the area, “What do ye’ like ta eat? Might give me a better idea on where ta’ go. Unless yer not picky o’ course.”
Ace grinned proudly, shrugging lightly.
“Surprise me? I’m not too picky. Could always go with your favorite place, yeah?”
Ace adjusted his sunglasses to shield his eyes from the sun, looking around at unfamiliar streets.
“Huh, surprise the ol’ gambler? Hmm, alright! Not a ‘ard task.”
His favorite place? That was an easy one.
He’d already knew the place by memory, and had walked down to it multiple times or just order. Sometimes morning, evening or night. It’d even helped his moods when alcohol wasn’t available. More times then he can even admit.
Pulling Ace down the sidewalk, he stopped, seeing a bright lit up sign. “Pizza What!” Ah yes. The man could always settle for good pizza, he wasn’t even picky with toppings. Maybe Ace wouldn’t like it. He did seem easy going, but that the same time, this was their date so perhaps something fancier would suffice. Is this even a ideal place?
“Ah, ‘ere it is. Yer’ thoughts?” Looking over at Ace, he couldn’t help but admire that smile he’d been wearing all day. Huh. He really was a happy go lucky guy. He needed that positivity, especially due to his anger issues and bad habits.
Ace grinned, following David along the sidewalk and widening his eyes when they stopped at the pizza place.
“I didn’t take you for a big pizza guy, honestly. But hey, I’m not complaining. It’s gotta be good, right?”
He was proud of his nonchalant attitude, still grinning when he looked over to David and saw his attention was focused on him.
"I think so. You got ta' at least give it a try, chap."

David didn't make an attempt to move in order not to disturb him, only leaning down slightly to continue holding onto his hands. He opted to say something, when he parted his lips, all that came out was in inaudible sigh.
Studying Dwight, he looked exhausted. His breathing was heavy, chest rising and falling, with his shoulders following along. His eyes carried a small weight underneath and his body was nearly huddled. He really needed to rest first, at least some before he can begin starting up conversation. After all, the leader did just have a life threatening experience. Thank god he was there in time.
He just wanted him to know how much Dwight meant to him. But maybe he already knew, so it wouldn't be necessary. No matter what was going to happen next, he wouldn't ever leave his side.

“This ‘snt a date! Don’t know what makes ye say that..”
Obviously David knew why Ace was saying that, mostly for the purpose of teasing but- bloody hell! It did seem like he was taking this guy out, or something.
His fingers slid the money to the counter, but his face looked off from the stranger and Ace. His cheeks rapidly heating was NOT something he was proud of and having anyone especially Ace see it was bad cause that’s exactly what the gambler was looking for. At least that’s what he’d assumed.
As soon as the money was taken, it was immediately replaced with the suit in a plastic bag. David grabbed the top of it, and handed the attire to the Argentinan male.
Ace couldn’t help but laugh, tilting his head when David firmly denied the idea of going out on a date and turned his face away. It was even more confirmation that he was doing exactly what he wanted to embarrass David. When the suit was handed to him, he gladly took it with a grin.
“Aww, come on, it wouldn’t be so bad, would it?”
Enough of this.
Completely changing his meek attitude, he turned his face back towards Ace and lifted said man’s hand, planting a kiss on the top. He didn’t have anything to lose anyway, and it really wasn’t that bad of an idea anyways.
“Why the fuck not?!”
He replied proudly, and looked up at Ace, with a cocky smirk to match. Maybe this would get a good reaction, since it was out of the unexpected. He was being serious after all, and he actually did like someone for the first time. The English man gave up questioning why he liked him at this point, no use in trying to pinpoint his feelings.
Ace’s eyes widened when David grabbed his hand and kissed the top of it, grinning widely and laughing at the response.
“That’s the spirit! So, where did you plan on taking me?”
He held the bag over his shoulder, head tilted as he started to take steps backwards towards the door.
Oh, great. So he was serious about this.

“…it’s no use… he took too much,” he whimpered. Everyone supposedly knew what happened in those cases and Dwight was almost speechless. He didn’t want this to happen. Either way, he took his hand and tried to squeeze it but he wasn’t strong enough for it. The alcohol only made him whine more, and that was when his head lolled towards David and he fell on him.
Feeling Dwight weakly attempting to grip onto his hand and the pained whines he emitted, was extremely painful for David. Seeing one of his closest friends injured like this, god, not only did it boil his rage, but it hurt him so much.
“Please don’t say that.. ’m going ta’ help ‘ye and yer going ta’ be ok! I swear, everything will be ok.” David will keep that promise. And he would do anything he can to pull him through it, no matter what it takes. God.. if only he could fuck up that bastard.
After applying the alcohol, he grabbed out a roll gauze along with a clip and even though he really didn’t want to, he gently pulled his hand away. Lifting one end, he to begin wrapping the bandages, not too tightly; around Dwight’s swollen neck.
It was the truth though, but if it affected David in a negative way he should stay quiet. There was nothing he could do anymore, so he might as well swallow it up like the other negative things that happened to him. “…okay,” he whispered.
Dwight’s hand tried to follow David’s when he pulled it away, but he was feeling so weak it just fell onto his own lap. He didn’t want to let go either but there was nothing he could really do so he kept his eyes closed and allowed David to work on what he was doing.
“He probably knew I’m alone,” he said. It made sense -he’d been following him for a while and most likely didn’t see him meeting up with anyone, and he remembered seeing him through the window a few times and he had no family or anyone to live with. A perfect victim, one that no one would miss.
“Close the blinds, I don’t want him to see you in here,” he said as he widened his eyes, putting his hands on both of David’s forearms to look at him but his sight was somewhat blurry.

“I’ve never seen anything like that. The way you just stood up to a killer, being the newest one in here… what did you do out of here to have that barevy?”
Feng Min nodded at the leader, and crouched walked away quietly, to do a generator so that they can escape. She already knew that Dwight, or Jake would be saving the new survivor off the hook so her main focus was getting the generators done and escaping.
Once David had been unhooked, and healed by Dwight and Jake, his adrenaline had slowed. He was almost in a daze until he felt a hand grab his wrist and gently tug him away from the area. The scrapper followed the other two and stopped when they did. When Dwight begin talking, he just stared for a moment, then averted his gaze and sighed softly. He could feel the ache of pain over his body, especially his shoulder. But he listened to Dwight’s words carefully, and nodded, ignoring the discomfort. Protecting Dwight paid off then, he looked okay, and he already figured Feng Min had patched him up.
“I didn’t know what else ta’ do. You were injured.. and-and she was going ta’ ‘urt you.. I ‘ad ta’ do something.” He explained, as he watched Jake work his way on the generator next to them. “I used ta’ get into fights 'n other shite before this 'ell. Guess my bravery coulda came from that or something..” Finished the rugged scrapper, as he rested his hand on Dwight’s shoulder.
“But, 'ow about your leg? Is it alright?” He asked in a low voice, looking over his shoulders, making sure the killer wasn’t near them then back at Dwight.
“I guess it was,” he whispered, looking at his hand on his shoulder and then behind too before looking back at David. “I just didn’t expect it. It’s usually them breaking down at the spot or running away to hide, and I can’t blame anyone for it.” Running away was the clever choice after all. “But don’t do that too much, we don’t have many opportunities here. Next time some strange spikes will try to hurt you, fight them for as long as you can because I won’t leave you hanging there.”
Putting a hand against his chest, he took a closer look at his wound. “It’ll heal fast, don’t worry too much about it. Just look at my leg -it’s fine now. This place is strange, if you don’t die on the spot or bleed out then you’ll be back to your feet in no time.”
Damn it. He couldn’t help but admire that man now. He broke down at the campfire and now he’d been on the hook because of saving him. “…thank you,” he sighed.
“Do I have to do all the work?” Jake looked at them for a few seconds, then pat the generator a couple times to make them hurry and help him fix it. Dwight looked up at David again, moving away from him and kneeling down next to the generator.
“Ever fixed one of these?”. Dwight would explain to him all he needed to know, but he’d have to make him do the easier task because his hands looked too big for the delicate bits.
David watched Dwight kneel down in front of the generator, and shamefully looked off from his direction. "I 'aven't. Got any tips or somethin'?" It wasn't common for a majority of people to know how to fix one of those things. But it was still none then less embarrasing to admit to the leader.
He crouched down to the open spot on the generator and studied the wires, and cords. How the fuck was he going to do this? The man hadn't any clue in the engineering field, but it wasn't a coincidence that everyone else here did. So they must've learned quickly, or perhaps the entity gave them that ability. But did he have it?
David inhaled, then sighed inaudibly to himself. Losing his focus, he turned to Dwight, and begin to watch his hands so naturally fit and rearrange the parts. Then his eyes trailed off, up to the man's face, his short, chocolate hair pushed up, it looked soft. Those brown eyes to match, and his smooth nose, how it was nicely shapened. Much better then his own. Suddenly he caught himself staring, and immediately glued his eyes back to the generator. He'd be lucky if the other man didn't notice.

“What if it was?”
A loud snort and flustered cheeks were embarrassing, but David had the idea to combat these reactions, by being just cheeky. Although he didn’t think for a second It was in his place to do so, but being tease every now and then wouldn’t hurt. Especially in this case.
Those words almost purred off the tip of David’s tongue, as he was more then willing to return Ace’s flirtatious attitude. Perhaps the gambler’s suspicions were right.
The scrapper spared quick glances at the suit he’d picked out, then back at Ace. ‘He’d look amazing in that.’ Of course David immediately caught on to his thoughts, and he was left with a hotter, red face. God, why was he acting this way?!
Ace grinned at David’s response, leaning in close to his face and gently grabbing David’s chin, voice dropping to a whisper.
“I’d think that’s pretty bold of you, but I like it.”
He couldn’t help laughing as he let go and gave David space again, looking over the suit.
“I think I’ll go with this. It does look good.”
The ex rugby player’s eyes followed the gambler leaning in, and feeling his fingers hold his chin, pulling closer. Hearing his whispers, he was almost melting in the moment before Ace had drawn from it.
“It really does, lad.” Nodding with his response, he watched Ace examine the suit, and slipped his hand into his pocket, pulling out his wallet.
“Aight mate, ‘ow much is that?”
Ace looked for the price tag, holding it up to David.
“Seems like a pretty penny. But you did say to not worry about it, so I’m not concerned.”
He held the suit carefully, tilting his head slightly with a grin.
“So, what’ll be next on the agenda after this?”
“Yeah, don’t worry ‘bout it.” David replied, and took a step closer to the other man, subtly putting a hand over his shoulder.
Paying attention to detail was one of the scrapper’s traits so there wasn’t a chance he could miss, seeing Ace’s adorable grin. It was almost a force, that made him return a big smile, showing half of his tooth chip from the left.
After, he cleared his throat, motioning for Ace to follow him up to the counter, and idly grabbed the gambler’s free hand. It hasn’t even been half a day, and that was already becoming a habit. Great.
“Well.. we can get something to eat if ye want?”
Ace grinned at the subtle motion, following David at the motion up to the counter. He gently put the suit on the surface, looking over when David’s hand grabbed his.
“I wouldn’t mind a little something. What do you have in mind for a little date?”
He didn’t make any motion to take his hand away from David’s, still enjoying the teasing too much.
"This 'snt a date! Don't know what makes ye say that.."

"Yeah, don't worry 'bout it." David replied, and took a step closer to the other man, subtly putting a hand over his shoulder.
Paying attention to detail was one of the scrapper's traits so there wasn't a chance he could miss, seeing Ace's adorable grin. It was almost a force, that made him return a big smile, showing half of his tooth chip from the left.
After, he cleared his throat, motioning for Ace to follow him up to the counter, and idly grabbed the gambler's free hand. It hasn't even been half a day, and that was already becoming a habit. Great.
"Well.. we can get something to eat if ye want?"
