would a fully serious asgore be a threat? h
A bewildered look greeted the question asked of him. Did they really not know that it was his organization's job? Save civilians, help with rebuild effort. Why was this difficult to understand?
"I'm just... I'm just here to scan the area. Maybe we can rebuild this place quick enough that people can come and repopulate this area... Haven't you heard of the Guardians?"
He looked at Asgore with a genuine look of concern.
"This area cannot be rebuilt. There are reasons why the ruins remain ruins."
Of course he's not going to say it, leaving everyone frustrated with the whole thing. Of course, of course, such is Asgore who says less t hen what people need to hear.
The croc lowered himself until his big head was at a decent height compared to this person's head. He always thought it was more polite to try and avoid making people bend their necks to hell just to look at him.
"Well yeah... I have to sweep the place... my commander told me so. "
"And why is that, surely there is no...ulterior motive here is there?"
Asgore voice is not accusating, but quiet and calm. One hand still on the door and making sure that the lock can still be used. Perhaps it can, once he locks it, or he might lock himself out.

@carriercroc
Migraines were slowly becoming more common, the older he gets. though child is dead, hence it is a metaphor of how he would always become filled with head aches. In any case, there was nothing to do but continue to guard the ruins that was his home, one hand opening a door ...
"You came back. I see."

Asgore seeing deltarune Asgore fumbling a lot.
Organics and their concept of birth. Melfrand never truly understood any of it. New life being brought into the world through means he couldn't begin to imagine the logistics of it.
"People like me are literally built, as opposed to organics like yourself who are born. "
The croc began looking around to see how bad the damage was. Most likely he would at least take notes and reports when he'd get back. Whenever that was.
"...You have missed the point. entirely."
A sigh, there were similar beings to this machine in the city beyond. But they had a soul in them, and the centuries to understand mortality unlike this one, it seems. If the main focus was that... was there a point in talking to them?
It seems that whatever the other had said, made Asgore look irritable.
"Leave."
The look on the crocodiloid changed, uncharacteristically, to a stern gaze. Even Asgore would be about he wasn't the sort to use sternness in any situation. But it seemed it was needed.
"Miss what point? That your people were all killed way before I was a thought, let alone a concept? We're visibly from two entirely different worlds and I felt sharing pertinent information to avoid misconceptions. " he said, crossing his arms, metallic tail swishing about.
Melfrand then started looking at what ruins were around them, his tone grew cold and even more stern than before the exchange shifted in that direction.
"As for leaving, If I hug get back in my body and start moving, most of whatever structures you have will crumble. Maybe even on you. Not only that, but I wouldn't be doing my job. And I'm just about not interested in getting yelled at for not doing my job. "
There was nothing but apathy towards the other. Of course because this was not a monster he knew was born here. this is a stranger that confirmed that he was from another time and place, another world entirely.
"Either you plan it on purpose, or your a idiot. But this ruins are simply that, ruins. It can be fixed, you on the other hand... should leave."
It seems he is done with the other.

Can humans be that bad? Surely they can't be? No wait. I'm not home, maybe they are here? But... what's protocol for THAT?
Feeling called out, the crocodile brought his hands together and poked his index fingertips with each other.
"I'm sorry... we never got a distress call to come help your people... we would've come right away! We're Guardians after all!"
Not sure he hope there was some reassurance with that statement, is it didn't help this creature, he sure hoped it would help HIM, in some fashion
"...It was a foolish war to begin with, so long, long ago. You must have not existed before then."
Guadians or not, titles are useless when actions decided what will happen later on. Asgore knows that the other means well...but there was really nothing they could have done.
"You were likely not even born."
- starter call---
Asgore relaxed since he does not know a single thing happening in deltarune.
That tone... don't quite like it. Let's not escalate things, though... he thought to himself. The whole body of the robotic crocodile slowly laid down and closed it's eyes. For all intents and purpose, it looked dead. That was, until the sound of a door manifested dumb his side and a human sized, bipedal version of himself came from around one of the front legs.
"I didn't drop so much as just... popped into here. I wish there was a portal. " he brought a clawed hand to his maw and gave us a thoughtful scratch. After having made a clear movement of shrugging his own thoughts, he straightened and gave a military salute "Personnel Carrier Melfrand. This place looks like it needs a fair amount of help. Are there survivors that need transport?"
"...No, no more. The humans killed everyone centuries ago. The survivors live in the city over west."
his true form, or his true self. whichever, it made things convenient for the other, so long as nothing else was destroyed. Of course after the war on humans, nothing remained the same.
"A bit late, are you not. to help."
Originally, the crocodile would be able to scan his surroundings and find a way to tell where he was. This time wasn't as fortunate. Before he had found his way here, there was quite a bit of wandering involved.
"Be mindful of the flowers..." he was told.
He wasn't the brightest, but he knew to catch hints. He backed a few steps respectfully and lowered his while body. As much as he wanted to avoid making any unnecessary noise, someone as massive and heavy as he was dropped down hard enough to make the earth shake for a moment.
"Maybe you can help me. I think I teleported and now I lost my squad."
"...Return to where you dropped from. the portal might still be there." The entire place was one big ruin, where everything seems to be falling apart right now. Nothing was fixed, full of cracks and everything.
"Your group...I cannot help with."
