Sure! No worries at all I like rambling about Kokushibo-boo.
In the manga, Kokushibo and his twin brother Yoriichi have a final stand-off when Yoriichi finds him again during a Blood Moon night. At that time Yoriichi is over 80 years of age (consequently, so is Kokushibo). To Kokushibo this is a surprise, as he'd not known Yoriichi was still alive. Based on what Kokushibo knew of the Demon Slayer Mark's effects, Yoriichi should've been dead by 25 like the other Marked slayers (or demon hunters, as they were called during the Sengoku era in universe). But of course Yoriichi is Special/transcends the laws of the verse so that didn't happen!
Aaanyway, Yoriichi is just as Fast as in his prime despite his age. He attacks, and slashes Kokushibo's throat, but dies (on his feet, what a legend) before dealing a final blow. Kokushibo reminisces that another slash would've ended his life then. These events are shown in ch. 174.
Now, did that slash leave a scar? It may not have. Demon flesh heals aptly, especially for one of Kokushibo's abilities (and who knows, maybe Yoriichi's attempt was halfhearted... for sentimental reasons). But this was Yoriichi, who cut Muzan up and those scars never went away even though Muzan hid them, burning him continuously ever since.
This is a personal headcanon which I applied: like Muzan, Kokushibo may or may not have a hidden scar left on him from Yoriichi's blade. Thought it fun to add this in the fic, but the scar is only visible when he has his human appearance on (another headcanon! I like the idea of Kokushibo being able to shift back to his human appearance at will).
For the most part, him having the scar shows the events of the fic happen after Yoriichi's death, sometime in the 1500s, still during the raging years of the Sengoku era (how did I get there? added some personal timeline notes under the cut).

For purposes of playing around in fics: I approximated timelines counting back from Kokushibo's venerable age of 480 listed on the KNY wiki. Let's say he dies in 1915 (why 1915? that's another personal approximation of KNY events🫠). That would place the twins' birth dates in 1435. That makes them 25 years old in 1460 (and let's say that Michikatsu defects to Muzan at 24). Adding 60, it places the twins' final confrontation in 1520. The Sengoku/Warring States period is generally noted to begin with the Onin war in 1467.

No, you're good! There's no spoiling, the way I tried writing this, is so people reading so far are meant to understand through cues (subtle or not so subtle lmao) that Tsukihiko is Muzan and that Michikatsu is who he his (my favorite one is the scar on Michikatsu's throat from chapter 1; on a canon backstory level, it's a hint).
Michikatsu's comment "The demons we most fear all wear human faces" in chapter 1 is him telling Reader (and us) pointblank that things are not what they seem... like a cheeky bastard close to breaking the fourth wall. He was being the most honest he'll be for a while there. Overall the Reader character is meant to be the only one in the dark. I'm glad you're reading this story!
Wait I’m kinda confused on why Michikatsu is actually helping us in the latest fic? He usually does it for a reason, correct me if I’m wrong 😭
You're right, there is an overall practical reason he's there and helping to keep us alive.
I don't know how this detail came across in chapter 2, but lord Tsukihiko is our demon king Muzan. I used his canon alias, partly because I really, really like that name heh but also because I think it is something he would do. Muzan is known to intercept and adopt alternate identities while having his own agenda. In this story, at the beginning, he's apparently "helping" the Mori lord find his fledgling niece, isn't he? His line at the end of chapter 2 mentions having "his best tracker set on the search."
Reader thinks Michikatsu just happened to be there, and has no way of connecting his presence to the eerie feeling of being watched for nights on end before his appearance. 🫣
But eh, who knows what else goes on in "Michikatsu"'s mind? We're in for a rocky ride.
