Trying to make your OC in some TTRPG system feels like those shape sorter toys. You pick your OC (triangle shape) and try to put on the circle hole (TTRPG-A), you flip it around and try to force it, but notices eventually that it isn't going to get in that hole without reshaping parts of the OC you aren't willing to cut! Then you move to the SQUARE HOLE (TTRPG-B) and it fits! you can put it in, it isn't intended or a perfect fit, the big void scratches at your mind a little, but it WORKS and that's good enough. Maybe in the future you'll discover the existence of a triangle hole that is indeed the perfect fit for that OC, but for now the square hole is there...
