Sup?
my faith is something in limbo, and I feel guilty that i’m not in a “state” of pursuing the truth. I’m not so much concerned to have the answer now, but I know that I don’t have an excuse to sit around while my questions collect dust. I bought the study quran, I plan on reading just a little bit every day and reflecting. Hopefully that helps.
Your worst sin is that you have destroyed and betrayed yourself for nothing.

Have you ever been depressed? how did you cope with it?
Sorry for the delay anon, I wasn’t aware that anyone even read my blog lol.
I have been depressed, for various reasons at various stages in my life. There are so many vectors that contribute to depression that I’m afraid my personal experience wouldn’t necessarily apply to you.
I like to take a holistic approach. Anxiety/depression can often have one or more root causes: mindset (negative reinforced triggers, habits, etc), physiological (lack of microbiota diversity, general supplemental deficiencies), neurological, diet, exercise, environment, etc.
For me I guess it was a mix of emotional abuse growing up, and the “cure” was having an amazing support system of friends that “anchored” me to a reality that was happier. The people you associate with will influence you whether you like it or not, no matter how mindful you’re being of their potential influence.
That said, I still developed unhealthy habits and thought processes that I’m still trying to get over, and for that I would recommend CBT practices along with micro dosing psychedelics to help get out of that
Blind obsession with Fiqh
Don’t you see, that Allah’s love for you is simple?
He wants you wherever you are,
in whatever mess that you’re in,
in all your confusion,
right now,
in any way that you are able to struggle.
Allah is not concerned with the imperfect results,
Allah is concerned with the imperfect that continue to strive towards him.
Emotional Intelligence in the Workplace
One of the most important and underrated skills you can have in any work environment, whether it's at corporate or a startup, is emotional intelligence. Working with your colleagues on a challenging project will test you and the team in many ways beyond the typical technical and logistical challenges that typically surface. I've noticed that what sets a successful manager apart can be as simple as understanding and working with, and not against, the unique and sometimes conflicting quirks that coalesce into the flow that drives your team forward.
I've seen too many frustrated managers attempting to brute force their approach with people that don't respond to the same emotional cues, and it leaves team members just as frustrated and exhausted while doing nothing to help the project along. In my experience, project management is just as much about managing people's emotions as it is managing deadlines, risks, and scope.
Even in teams as small as 3, you may be working with people of wildly different backgrounds, experiences, expectations, upbringings, educations, etc. And although there are general social constructs narrowing the set of "expected" behaviors that dictate your regular interactions, you will still be challenged by those who simply are not on the same page as you in terms of expectations, processes, or attitude. It is even more important for a successful leader to understand those most different from themselves, and identify optimal ways of interacting, encouraging, or criticizing in ways that will move the project forward and maintain good, balanced relationships. And sometimes that means letting go of your ego to acknowledge someone that did something good, even if it was different than how you would have wanted it done. Good management is often more about listening and guiding, than it is about telling and enforcing.

I’m sick and tired of struggling in a life I don’t even wanna have.
what’s stopping you from building another one worth struggling for?
We’re all a little sad, I think. Maybe it’s because we have this realization that our time is short. Or maybe because we know deep down that we are alone. We keep that sadness in, and we forget until we are forced to remember. I don’t think that will ever go away.
Sadness is part of your complete emotional breakfast. Without it the “happiness” would be cheap and unrealized, and there are even studies that show this to be true. I don’t suggest that we dwell on it, but we should embrace our sadness as an anchor to an otherwise manic existence.
Culture and the greater acceptance
Acceptance/validation has been on my mind a lot lately for some reason. Maybe it's because when you really deconstruct human behavior, the reasoning behind people's actions always seems to be related to seeking validation/acceptance. Self-worth is often measured by external validation too.
The more the general public approves with you and your behaviors/accomplishments, the more you feel a sense of safety, security, and acceptance. And the closer people are to you the more their opinions matter, because we've learned from an early age to derive safety from the people closest to us.
That leads me to another thought. What is culture beyond a set of ancient customs that provides a gateway to validation and acceptance from generations of people you have never met? When you adopt a culture, you get to say that "my people" did this or did that. When you share your culture with someone else, you are taking pride in achievements made by a people and culture you subscribe to, and through that you too can share in the validation of this achievement.
It’s the same for people who subscribe to sport team fandoms. The communities we identify with are, in some ways, a personal collection of who we are deep down, and an attack on them is an attack on us.
Ramadan Kareem muse :p
Thank you anon, Ramadan kareem to you as well :)
I’ve realized something about our generation. We do not have leaders. When one emerges, then we write about something problematic that they did. We like to talk about our heroes, who died long before we lived, why? Because they cannot betray us by speaking. We provide them the words, by interpreting theirs to suit our interests.
We never ask: isn’t there a value to someone who recovered from making a mistake? More importantly, who hasn’t made a mistake?
well said. pitch forking is our favorite hobby it seems
Hey! so what do you think of Bitcoins? is it smart to invest in bitcoins and how can one benefit from them in day-to-day life?
There’s really very little benefit to bitcoins in day to day life unless you’re in to the darknet and want to buy drugs :P
You certainly can invest in bitcoin on a dollar cost averaging basis (meaning steady purchase of bitcoin every month) but don’t expect it to be worth much for a while. But since it is a deflationary currency the value will almost surely continue to increase in the future. Of course, this isn’t guaranteed if people abandon it for another digital currency (such as ethereum)

How do communists reconcile Islamaphobia? Most communist regimes are historically Islamaphobic. Not that other societies aren't, but still...
you essentially answered your own question. islamophobia is a historical continuity across the political spectrum; the most ostensibly democratic regimes have also been historically islamophobic. i’d also push back a little against reducing communism to being something wherein communist regimes can be seen to speak for communists; this has rarely been the case.
This is a good point. A lot of really important concepts have fallen prey to circumstantial baggage, and people often have a hard time separating the two.
also hi josh i miss you
where did you goooooo?
hellooooo dear anon! life has taken me away unfortunately, but maybe I’ll get back to doing some more reflection. I’ve missed this place a bit. also stop being anonymous!
