“I could slit your throat and be gone before anyone found us." Joie replied, but a smile had formed on her dark features. "And the fact that you resort to using screams instead of a weapon means you either really want to avoid using a weapon or… you don’t have one.” Her eyes narrowed in on the girl.
"That would be both- I lost my knife," Arkytior kept backing up, eyes on the woman, she could try and leap from the brush, and take a run for it, or try and negotiate.
She's wait though.

Dean was startled, but tried not to show it. The girl looked young, even younger than himself maybe. She also didn’t seem to have a ranged weapon on her. Glancing around, he determined it would be safe enough for him to get down. Dropping out of the tree, Dean stared at her. “Yeah… sorry I tried to shoot you.” He said, pursing his lips. And he actually meant it.
Oh, but she was so much older than she looked. “I understand, it’s a game where you shoot to kill, but you missed me, mostly.” She offered the taller one the arrow, using her thumb briefly to wipe away a smudge. She kept it so he couldn’t stab her without warning, and she couldn’t stab him.
Swallowing nervously, Dean inched towards her, so he could reach out and grab his arrow. “Um, I know the river is down that way.” He motioned in the other direction. “If you wanna go clean off your wound.” Dean knew what he was doing. He could make a few friends or be a loner in this, and he knew which one had worked for him as a hunter.
"I'd rather head into the city- it's infested with things here. Dead, disgusting looking things. 'Zombies' I believe is the word." She bit her lip.
"I'm going to figure the shortest route- you can join me, if you'd like."

Arkytior was on the otherside, back safely against a rock as she face the water, checking her pack silently, she’d lost her weapon, but otherwise she felt confident.Confident she could outlive a few more people/ Unworried by the dark haired woman across from her, she looked up, “….Two dead already. Kinda scary…”
Im’s head jerked upright at hearing the girl’s voice, her hands still in the ice cold water. Eyeing her, Im nodded, trying to come to a decision about the girl. On one hand, she didn’t seem to much of a threat, on the other…it wasn’t as if this was a game for people to meet and just walk away.
"Yeah," Im muttered, "Yeah, it is. Did you know them?"
Arkytior looked behind the woman, "Move, whatever those are move away from them." A mere warning wouldn't hurt, would it? She stood, looking around her, there were more, dead, disgusting things around her.
"Cybermen. You need to get out of here. Now."
"I do not know of The Cybermen, but, I shall not leave, one of my own."

She had only just gotten into the thicker brush when she heard the succinct boom of the canon.
Once.
Twice.
Two down, many left. Her first instinct was to get up high. It was an angel’s inclination to be higher than others, but in her mortal form, crawling up into a tree would get her killed. Instead, she moved along the overgrowth as quietly as possible, knife handle tight in her grip. The blade ran parallel to her forearm. Demon or human, it would be a handy weapon to keep at the ready.
Bodies moved around her, but she kept moving. She would pair off with someone only at night when sleep would call on her mortal status. A snarl twisted her pretty features.
“Mortal…again." She whispered to herself.
Arkytior kept to crawling through the brushes and over things, which, could have been a mistake, as she stopped, she was weapon less, and there was someone’s coming toward her. Great.
Though not privy to her angelic powers, Joie was still very aware of her surroundings. The sound of crawling froze her advancement. Expanding her sense of hearing, she zeroed in on the movement.
“A predator circling in?" The solid weight of her knife in her hands, she lounged forward, catching the fearful glint in the girl’s eyes. "Or prey hiding quietly?" Tip of the specialized knife dancing as she spoke.
“Speak or I strike."
Arkytior shivered, "P...prey hiding," She murmured, trying to back up in the under brush, shivering more at the womans tone.
"I will not hesitate to give away our location..." It was an empty threat in all.
“Bloody christ - that hurts.”
"W...what...is wrong?"

Soft forest leaves flew around her feet as she jogged away from the starting platforms, trying to disappear into the woods as quickly as possible. Putting distance between herself and the other tributes, even the girl from her own district, was her only advantage at this point, at least until she some of the tributes had been killed and she had a better chance.
Coming upon a creek, Im murmured a quiet thanks and knelt at the edge of it, dipping her hands into the water.

Something in Arkytior said, that she should try and attack the other woman, and she obeyed the feeling, standing as silently as she could, the brush russe;ing, but it didn’t matter, she was close aenough, and had the advantage of being behind her.
She raised her knife, aiming for the others shoulder. She brought it down with everything she had.
Wendy let out a cry of pain as the blade crashed into her shoulder and she fell over holding onto her shoulder. She wanted to stay down but everything in her body told her to run and deal with the pain later. ”No.” She wasn’t going to die this easily. She picked up and took off running with the blade still in her shoulder.
Arkytior wasn't letting her knife run away, no no no, she needed that. She sprinted after the other, thank god for all those days of running from things. if she could just get close enough for the blade, she'd take it and let the brunette go.

Arkytior kept low, trying to move silently. She’d never used a knife in her life, but she didn’t dare stop to look in the backpacks yet. Quietly, she spoke toherself, calculating how long it’d be until a death took place- she assumed not long.
She always looked around, keeping an eye on everything. Or trying. Part of her, maybe all of her, regretted leaving Gallifrey now, as she heard what she assumed was a person, and she shrank into what cover she could find. Scraggily brush again, as she watched in almost disgust.
Wendy came struggling into view, she took short long breaths her three bags had been condensed down into two and both were laced on her back and in her hand was a small dagger. She didn’t see the girl in the brush as she leaned against a tree trying to catch a breath.

Arkytior decided to play it risky, amd couldn’t help but to glance up. “I see you.” She murmured, wiping the blood again, and, foolishly picking his arrow up, “I suppose you’ll want this back, yes?”

Huffing near silently, Dean lowered his bow and strained to see if he had hit her. When she turned to look, he ducked back down, causing the leaves around him to rustle. Damn it! He cursed mentally, hoping she wouldn’t spot him. Though maybe if she did, she would try to attack.

Her lungs were like fire, and her lips were dry and cracked. Water. She thought. Her legs were giving out. She fell to the ground. She heard something. It sounded like a river. She crawled with remaining strength she had. She cupped her hands and drank. Suddenly, there was a crack. She took out her knife,” Who’s there?”
Arkytior stopped, hands up, backpack slung over her arm, knife in one hand, as the other spoke, and turned to the water, at least the other would have to cross water to get to her.
