Questions haunt me every time I sit silently neath an empty sky Is my imagination overactive or have I only forgotten how to fly In the distant past or in an instant before the world laid claim to me And added me to their collection was there a time when I was free Not a prisoner in a lonely shell enduring endless toil and strife Somehow this is but a dream to awaken from and find my life Every obstacle another illusion why compete with nothing to win The destination matters but little it’s important only that I begin What will an empty sky surrender might these sightless eyes be healed Have I the courage to stay the course until they see the truth revealed
