Anyway! The mere notion of chickenpox has resurrected this blog I can’t believe I’ve never thought of chickenpox

-fever usually around 102 but can get up to 103 (1! 0! 3!)

-lasts five to ten days. Up to ten entire days.

-can be pretty serious in adults (worried caregivers all day)

-can develop into often-fatal varicella pneumonia if you’re down for angst

-calamine baths

-“did you never get vaccinated what the fuck”

-highly contagious, perfect excuse for multiple sickies

-imagine ur stubborn fave trying to deny being sick while literally covered in pox

In conclusion chickenpox is fantastic and under appreciated thanks for coming to my Ted talk

Viktor isn’t listening and it’s driving Yuuri up the wall.

“Vitya…”

“Not now, Yuuri,” he says shortly and it’s clear he’s getting fed up with Yuuri constantly checking up on him.

Yuuri can’t help it, though. To put it frankly, Viktor looks like shit. His cheeks and nose are flushed pink with the fever he’d woken to that morning and two hours of practicing hadn’t done anything to help with that. Yuuri’s been trying to convince him to go home since they got here but it’s clear Viktor is feeling the stress of bringing his programs up to scratch before Russian nationals. Taking half a season out has exponentially increased his stress levels and it’s done a number on his immune system.

“But Vitya…”

“I said not now.”

Yuuri might have been subdued once upon a time by having his childhood idol shut him down so viciously. But seeing Viktor wipe his hot forehead with the back of a gloved hand finally sparks something protective in Yuuri and he snaps.

“Viktor!” He bites out, feeling his system flood with a strange sort of defensive rage. 

He doesn’t know what he’s going to say and Viktor is looking at him with a stunned expression. However, he doesn’t have to say anything because all too suddenly Viktor’s eyes are swimming and his face crumples.

“Y-Yuuri, I don’t feel well,” he whimpers and Yuuri has him wrapped up in a hug just like that, all previous anger forgotten.

“I know,” he murmurs and Viktor lets out a soft sob against his shoulder. Yuuri kisses his hair. He’s definitely far too warm. “Let’s get your skates off, okay?”

Viktor sniffs. “Okay.”
