dakota beamed as they approached taryn and threw their arms in the air to mimic her. “i did! wasn’t too hard. glad you left the bathroom, i’d hate to have to kiss you in there.” it was about twenty minutes to midnight at the moment of the two getting together.
Taryn laughed again when Dakota’s arms also rose, and she dropped hers at her side. Okay, so maybe she’d had a few drinks, but so what? It was a special occasion, after all. “Why do you think I went early? Wanted to make sure I was ready for our big moment,” she replied with a wink, too smiley and giggly to be sexy in any way. Happily, she reached forward and grabbed the other’s arms, pulling them close. “You gonna dance with me ‘til then?”

dakota wanted nothing more to find taryn the first time their phone buzzed in their pocket. they were sure it was a clue, but a distraction came up. they could only hope that taryn was occupied with something, but it was now a half hour to midnight and dakota refused to be distracted anymore. it was time to find ryn. they pulled out the phone and recognized the shot of the bar after some time, “i doubt you’re still there?” dakota shot back. they headed in that direction anyway.
Taryn sent a few a more ‘clues’ in the short time she was at the club without Dakota nearby. Most of them were her in random places, one was a picture of a bathroom stall, one a picture of someone she danced with for a hot minute, and the last was of a new bartender at the bar. Shortly after the last one, Dakota was joining her, and Taryn grinned when she saw them approaching. “You found me!” She shouted, throwing her arms in the air and practically cackling.

when tyler went out, he made a habit of almost exclusively going to the falcon. it’s not like his sister needed him to keep her in business. no. taryn had built an excellent reputation for herself, it was the most popular bar in derry in the same way bartini was the most popular club. he knew his sister let his employees pick the music and he was among the bodies when the killers started blaring through the speakers. tyler nodded approvingly when he noticed it wasn’t mr. brightside but rather when you were young.
he rolled his eyes as his sister hoped up on the bar a little bit away from him. rolled his eyes at the bartender smacking her, her dance moves. he sang along a bit, couldn’t help it. it was all so contagious. “he doesn’t look a thing like jesus, but he talks like a gentlemen”
he let his sister finish as he moved down closer to her with a smile, “killer dance moves. is that how you get everyone to come back all the time?” he chuckled and gestured to help her off the bar. “i’m just glad you don’t act like a stripper. not that isn’t honest work, i just don’t want to see it.”
Taryn tended to lose herself in a performance like this. She liked the song, liked to move her body in time with the music, even sort of liked having eyes on her. That said, she wasn’t always about being in the spotlight, but sometimes it was just fun. When Tyler walked in, Taryn didn’t notice, and usually she noticed things like that. It was more like her to yell his name and lift a glass, which always made a handful of drunk patrons yell his name and raise their own glasses, toasting when they didn’t even know what they were toasting for.
Her song finished, and she looked down when she heard his familiar voice speaking up at her. “You know it,” she replied with a grin, offering him her hand so he could help her off the bar. Still she mostly just jumped off, clumping down onto the floor and straightening up to look at Tyler. “You just saw me dance, right? I couldn’t pull off the stripper moves, everyone here knows it.”

Taryn: ha. I'm the only one who has had to use it so far, no worries.
Tyler: you’re my little sister, that’s still a worry.
Tyler: how bad has anything ever got at the falcon?
Taryn: i could always beat you up, don't play.
Taryn: eh, not that bad...i've only had to knock a guy out once. usually the threat of the bat is enough.

Tyler: absolutely thought you were insane for that one.
Tyler: still not super fond of you being the one to use it, grace as well.
Taryn: ha. I'm the only one who has had to use it so far, no worries.

dakota: is it a stupid dilemma?
dakota: i mean, blue's my sister but i live with oli, and i don't want them to make anything weird for me.
dakota: and that is selfish.
taryn: yeah, but i mean, if they're JUST hooking up, couldn't they have done that with ANYONE? seems fucked up for your sister to sleep with you roommate or your roommate to sleep with your sister when they could've picked anyone else.
taryn: i don't think you're being selfish
