A Simple Bind To Shut Someone Up
For when you want someone to quit talking shit.
Procedure:
Take a piece of paper and draw a tongue (a horseshoe shape with a line going down the middle) then draw a large X through it.
Write beneath the drawing “You will hold your tongue.”
Fold the piece of paper over and glue it shut, or take a safety pin and pin it closed.
Slip this into a jar with a layer of black salt (or mud) at the bottom of it. Seal the jar and store in a place that light will not reach it.
* I did this simple binding when a manager would not lay off my ass and it worked fairly well for me. Happy binding!
9- Marie Laveau
9- Marie Laveau (September 10, 1801- June 15, 1881).
Voodoo Queen of New Orleans
I was really excited to do Marie Laveau as she has left a somewhat unparalleled legacy in the American imagination. As a woman of color, she broke the boundaries of the perception of magic and the societal position of women. While not practicing witchcraft per se, as a practitioner of Voodoo, etc. she helped to redefine the understanding of women, power, and autonomy. Trying to tease apart the historical accounts of Marie and her daughters from the cultural identity and legacy they’ve left is very challenging, with key pieces of information about their lives being lost to time.

“Rada” by Mioree
this week, i spoke to someone who crochets, someone creating their own tiny home out of a camper and someone who is building an online witch community that centers BIWOC. they all told me how witchcraft is helping them grow as people and heal from different types of abuse or mental health challenges. link in bio. if you'd like to join a series of interviews about healing through witchcraft (or any spiritual practice), dm me or email [email protected].

[black text on peach background reads: "I genuinely think that if everyone in the world could tap into their higher selves, and the energy of the greater collective, the resultant perspective would lead us to a place of better harmony. - Brianna C." text underneath says: "how has witchcraft healed you? // august 2019"]

While I don’t really put anything into the whole astrological sign thing, I like my stones. Particularly because Tigers Eye has always been one of my favorite stones. And I like the different opals I’ve seen a lot. Plus, I have a small rock collection that I still think is pretty cool. That and my coin collection. :)
Peace flows like a river.
This is the most beautiful thing. I’m keeping this for reference.
