Coffee Milk Stout from @stonebrewingco. Tastey accompaniment to waffles. Ballast Point's "Calm Before the Storm". Really impressed with this one. The coffee and vanilla are on point.
Chocolate Hazelnut Porter (Heretic)
Brewery : Heretic Beer : Chocolate Hazelnut Porter Style : Porter Variance : Brewed with Chocolate and Hazelnuts I think….
9 / 10
I never thought the day would come where I would prefer a beer over those little golden balls of pure ecstasy known as Ferrero Rocher but apparently that day is today so move the fuck over because Heretic is here. I feel like the fat kid at the ice cream store because this beer is the best dessert I could have asked for right now and I’m glad I was able to get my hands on it. This starts with a light chocolate sweetness that stays thin enough to not be overwhelming while a nice nutty hazelnut and mildly smokey flavor joins in in the middle before some more sweetness and cocoa finish this up. This truly tastes like if someone took a big spoon of Nutella and smeared it on your upper gums like a fucking dog and you just sat there licking at it making hideous faces for an hour, which I wouldn’t mind at all (I can make some pretty awful faces). Elizabeth Falkner probably would already be an Iron Chef if she would have created this instead of her sorry excuses for meals on TV (you should feel bad Elizabeth) but now Alex is in and you’re fucking out. This is an amazing entry point for the new generation of craft beer drinkers due to it’s out of this world flavors and smooth drinkability. For the bastard drinking crew of the world, if you are not already sucking this down then you need to be taken out back and shot because you clearly are blowing it in life. Cheers!

Good stuff. Had one of these around this time last year.
What I enjoyed on International Stout Day. @stonebrewingco makes some mighty fine stouts.
Don’t analyze it and don’t fight it. Let the #foodporn work its wonders on your salivary glands as you begin to anticipate the soon-to-arrive Juli Goldenberg / @monkeypawbrew / Stone 24 Carrot Golden Ale. STONE BLOG http://blog.stonebrewing.com/index.php/24-carrot-golden-ale/ #Craftbeer
Now that we’ve eclipsed our 19th anniversary in grand style, we can share our even GRANDER plans for our 20th anniversary. Some truly special #craftbeer offerings will roll out over the course of the next 365 days. PREPARE YOURSELF #BEER FANS!!!
HOLYYYYYYY SHITTTTTT. This news makes me moist.
stonebrewingco Classic Imperial Russian Stout. Damn tastey.
We’re going to brew a carrot cake #beer. No need to check the calendar…it’s not April Fools’ Day. But you should check the STONE #BLOG, because it has all the details on what will be a truly unique #craftbeer collaboration with our friends at @MonkeyPawBrew | http://bit.ly/24carrotale
Holy shittttt. That looks mad real.
Celebrating Memorial Day with a delicious IPA.
Southern Tier’s Mokah.
Appearance: Extreamly dark, almost black. You could almost describe the pour as thick as it comes out of the bottle. (2.75 out of 5)
Smell: Close to the smell when you open up a Hershey bar. Sweet. Milk chocolate. Faint smell of coffee. (4.25 out of 5)
Taste: The chocolate stands out more than the coffee in the front. Its not until the finish that the coffee rears its tastey bitterness, which creates a scrumptious counter-balance of flavors. The coffee and chocolate play off of each other like Danny Glover and Mel Gibson. There is a slightly alcoholic bite at the finish, but thats to be expected with a 10% ABV. (3.25 out of 5)
Mouthfeel: Not too much carbonation. Its a creamy and smooth mouthfeel (I wish this sentence wasn’t so sexually suggestive). (3.50 out of 5)
Overall: Mokah is an enjoyable entry into Southern Tier’s “Blackwater Series”. I’m not sure I could drink this outside of a dessert course, but who the fuck cares? Its a tastey beverage. (3 out of 5)
It seems this beer should be casually sipped after a steak dinner with your main squeeze. Here’s an idea: pick one of these up and stash it away until Valentine’s Day. Break that bitch out after dinner to accompany dessert. That’s what some may call a “Panty Dropper”.
Xocoveza from Stone Brewing - like a Mexican hot chocolate in a beer…
Beautiful glassware for a beautiful beer.
Going to try reviewing beers using a guide I found on the Beer Advocate website (http://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/how-to-review-a-beer.241156/). Here we go…
stonebrewingco Chai-Spiced Imperial Russian Stout, part of the “Odd Beers for Odd Years” series.
Appearance: Pours almost black with a rich, creamy head. Similar to Wesley Snipes before he went to prison.(3.75 out of 5)
Smell: Heavy chai spice, everything the label claims to be. Sweet and spicy from the chai. I found it to be an inviting smell, but I could see how the chai smell could be overwhelming. (4.25 out of 5)
Taste: Heavy chai flavor in the front, which lessens as the beer warms. Similar flavors to Southern Tier’s Warlock, but with the spices TURNT UP. The chai spices compliment the alcohol flavor quite well. You can tell the booze is there, but it doesn’t club you over the head, which is what I expected from a somewhat high ABV beer. Reminded me of Thanksgiving dessert. (4.50 out of 5)
Mouthfeel: Little carbonation. Velvety SMOOVE, coats the mouth. (4.75 our of 5)
Overall: Really enjoyable. Reminded me of Thanksgiving, which is always a good thing. Its comparable to “My Way”-era Usher, with a little aging it could get to “Confessions”-era Usher. (4 out of 5)
One final note, I ended up buying another 4 of these. I plan to drink one every 3 months for the next year. Really looking forward to the flavor progression.
Seems appropriate to be enjoying one of these bad boys on Cinco De Mayo.
I found this petition (http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/yearlyxocoveza) on Reddit while browsing earlier this afternoon. The purpose of the petition is to get stonebrewingco to continue to brew the delicious nectar of the gods that is, Xocoveza.
P.S. It appears that stonebrewingco is aware of the petition.
Enjoying the draft...
