Brawl flinched at the glare, the skittish tank holding his knees to his chest and shutting his optics out of fear. If he annoyed Onslaught, Onslaught might send him back! Not paying attention to the others anymore, Brawl tried to forget the horrible torture he had experienced in that lab.
Vortex’s touch pulled him from his thoughts, as he jumped and made a terrified cry. “Don’t hurt me anymore!” Terror was on his side of the bond, as he began to shake once again.
“H-Hi, ‘Tex..”
He tilts his helm at the cry. What was that for? He's not quite sure.
"I'm not gunna hurt ya Brawl. Jeez. I'm just here to watch over you." Vortex spins his rotors and comes to sit in front of the large tank. "So. Since I'm here and have to be your 'babysitter' what did you want to do? Something thats inside, not outside. Its too cold for my rotors. They'll freeze. Heh."

Somebody needs to Photoshop them to have cigarettes.
TACTICAL SPA DAY
Onslaught was already awaiting his team mates. It was kind of sad to see what was left of their team, only the three of them when they had already regained the full gestalt prior to that. He had to remind himself that today was not a day for worrying about these things (which was hard for him - he just couldn’t seem to stop his processor from constantly evaluating every situation he was confronted with) and cleared his throat.
"I am granting you a day off" he informed his team mates without any further ado. As if you had been doing anything of significance anyway, he griped mentally but was sure he didn’t need to say it out loud in order for the other two to guess his opinion.
"However, it is only granted under the condition that it is spent together with the rest of the team, meaning myself and the respective other one of you two, in your cases." And before Brawl could possibly lose track of what he was saying, he quickly added, "As I said, a team excursion. The three of us are spending the day together. Does anyone have any special wishes as to where we should spend it? I don’t suppose I could enthuse you with a day of competitive crossword solving at the base?”
The tank crossed his arms unimpressed, Brawl was expecting a mission not some team building exercise scrap. At least Vortex was being dragged into this slag too.
“Really Onslaught? A day off doing crosswords? Are we Combaticons or pencil pushers?”
Crosswords made Brawl feel stupid anyway. Maybe Vortex would have some good ideas about what to do instead of crosswords.
“Let’s do something fun. Like killing some Autobots!”
Vortex arrives just a few minutes later at the desire location and looks at both of his gestalt mates, keeping quiet as he listens to Onslaught's request. "Team day eh?" He crosses his arms. "Fine by me." He actually thought it would be nice to do some team stuff for once since the other two Combaticons seemed to drop from the face of the planet.
He looks over and snorts, trying to hold back a laugh at the 'pencil pushers' response-statement whatever. THat was gold, that was a good one no doubt.
The copter shrugs some, "Eh I dun care we we do. Sure killin' Autobots is nice but they've been awfully quiet. As far as I know.. heh. Why not relax or do something we could all enjoy, hm?"

TACTICAL SPA DAY
Normally, Onslaught didn’t like to take days off. And that was especially true since lately, he had to deal with quite a lot of new people, and dealing with humans while trying to stay hidden and as anonymous as possible had proven to be quite exhausting.
Well, he was sure it would be worth the trouble in the end. Or at least he had been sure before he had fallen asleep on his desk after forgetting about recharging for a couple of days.
He startled himself awake, and while he was considerably mad for the involuntary break, he also realized that his effectiveness would just decrease further and further if he kept mistreating himself like this.
It was time for a break. A break day.
«Combaticons, meet up with me at the base. We are going on a….team excursion.»
A team what? Brawl narrowed is optics as he sat at a desk in the recreation room, his cube of energon almost forgotten. Why did Onslaught have to use such big words all the time! Made the tank feel really stupid sometimes.
Grumbling, the tank decided it would be best not to argue, if they entire team was called, it must be something important. Forgetting about the cube, Brawl made his way to Onslaughts office.
At least he didn’t sound horny this time.
«On my way, Boss.»
Vortex had been swirling a glass of high grade when he received a comm from no other than Onslaught. Oh goodie..
<<Yessir. I'll be there momentarily.>>
He pushes himself up from his seat and downs his cube then disposes of it and goes to the location of interest Onslaught has said for them to meet. The rotors on his back spin a bit as he moves swiftly. No reason at all, he just liked spinning them...and missing Swindle.. But he's not going to let that show!

As Vortex eventually entered the room, Onslaught gave Brawl a last, stern glance before he got up. He would check on the tank again later, but for now he figured he had to let Vortex take over.
The look the copter got was just as stern. “If you take your optics off him for even a second and he gets abducted again, you will wish you were the one they took” he said quietly as he walked past Vortex and left the room without waiting for confirmation.
His arms cross over his chest as he stares at Onslaught. "Don't think I'm a good enough babysitter?" Scoffing slightly and doesn't back down from his stern glare.
"Yeah yeah, he's in good hands. He's not going anywhere." He rolls his optics underneath his blast mask and pets Brawl's helm lightly. "So do you need anything Brawl?"
Combaticons: Instruments of Destruction… I decided to try my hand at all of the Combaticons, my favorite Combiner/gestalt team of Transformers. I’ve liked these guys since the 80s cartoon and was very happy they appeared in the recent Fall of Cybertron game. This was drawn on Bristol Board with mechanical pencil (and some 2B pencil), using lots of smudging and kneaded eraser techniques, then colored in Photoshop. I based the designs off the G1 cartoon, but occasionally used other references- for instance, I like Blast Off’s arms in his toy mode more than the cartoon, so I went with that.
A new third party appears, Warbotron, and they summon “Bruticus!”

Brawl nodded, moving back and transforming into his tank form. “You might wanna move ‘Tex. I can’t really move my turret that much with these trees.”
"Alright buddy." Getting out of the way, he hops some distance away so he wouldn't get hit in the crossfire. "Tell me when you're ready Brawl." Keeping hidden behind some foliage but his gaze never leaves the tank in case if something were to happen.
Makings the adventure
Vortex’s visor flashes when he’s hugged from behind. A servo reaching back to pat his helm. “There’s nothing to be scared of, it’s just foliage. No slender, no nuthin’.”
Oh yes, it was night time now…how peculiar… The forest was so dense it was too hard to tell what time of day it was. His visor flashes and searches around but nothing to be heard nor seen of…
Not letting the older Combaticon go, the tank flinched at the light touch to his helm. “Tex, can’t you fly out of here? I could try blasting some trees for you.”
Vortex wouldn’t leave him alone here, Brawl was sure of that.
Vortex nods, "Yes, I can fly outta here. I just need a clearing in order to take off. Ya know? If these trees are blasted away, then I can get us outta here."
The copter looks towards the thick foliage. "Hn, can you do that?"
Makings the adventure
“Yes, we are. But don’t worry. All of those human creatures are lies and slander. What thing could such exist? It can’t. ” Trying to be somewhat helpful and it was true. These things were not real.
He pulls out his gun to reassure that the two were going to be safe. Getting some what heated through these dense trees, he uses his rotors to spin around in order to cool him off.
If he could somehow push his way up through the trees he could get an idea of where they were at. and potentially fly the tank back to base but that wasn’t going to be so easy….
Still staying close to the helicopter, the tank flinched at every strange noise he heard or every weird shadow.
After a few hours, Brawl was practically hugging Vortex. “Vortex, I’m scared.”
The only thing scarier than a forest, was a forest at night.
Vortex's visor flashes when he's hugged from behind. A servo reaching back to pat his helm. "There's nothing to be scared of, it's just foliage. No slender, no nuthin'."
