Idc, if someone was making fun of MY wife’s chronic disorder that she is supposedly very sensitive about in front of thousands of people, I’d get on stage and smack the shit out of him too
I need people to know this isn’t just some ha ha funny moment, this is someone standing up against ableism in the most direct way possible on national television.
Let’s acknowledge that this was misogynoir as well as ableism. You cannot ignore the historical and cultural meaning of humiliating a Black woman for her hair, be it because of a condition or for any other reason. Especially from a comedian who’s made a career out of misogynoir.
I really need to reiterate: Chris Rock LITERALLY just made a documentary called HAIR which covered the importance of Black women’s hair in the culture. And then he sat up there on stage and made fun of a Black woman for her hair. That slap was deserved.
Such an important thing to hope for
update: this is a fantastic quote and im so glad it resonates with so many people. that being said i was totally unprepared to have my tumblr notifications constantly light up my phone at all hours and for the app to say i have 99+ notes every time i look at it. this has gotten nearly 14k notes in 12 days. not at all complaining, truly couldnt be more thrilled. or overwhelmed.
the best movie genre is heists where everything goes slightly wrong but in the last 10 minutes they show in flashbacks that actually everything was planned and they meant to break every bone in their body then go to prison or whatever
Howling at a post claiming *MALLS* were "designed as community spaces" and "ruined" by capitalism. Sorry they were literally day 1 designed to sell crap to people and the fact that they became 'hang out spots' in the 80s-00s was literally just because they'd driven any and all actual "community spaces" into the ground and they were ALL THAT WAS LEFT in vast swathes of the US oh my god
Malls captured all social life inside market transactions eliminating means of accessing community outside of the market to serve capitalism.
Okay so it's a biiit more complicated? The original concept for the mall was not supposed to have stores, but the first mall that was actually built was 100% intended purely as a place for commerce and not community. The initial vision of the mall as a community space was, sadly, never realized, because it would have cost a lot of money for something with zero prospect of a return.

ITS ATTRACTIVE AF WHEN SOMEBODY SAYS THEY WANT YOU & PROVES IT & DOES EVERYTHING IN THEIR POWER NOT TO LOSE YOU.
calling myself babe when I'm talking to myself. in a pitying but loving way. like babe you gotta get up. babe why are you doing this. babe you're giving me nothing here
as you get older, you realize that you’re not always right and there’s so many things you could’ve handled better, so many situations where you could’ve been kinder and all you can really do is forgive yourself and let your mistakes make you a better person.
*checks mood ring* huh i’m horny
Attention hits different when it’s from who you want.
i truly believe that a lot of what gets labeled as "yearning" on here is actually deep & profound & excruciating loneliness & i really think we would have more productive discussions about it if we could just call a spade a spade
like loneliness is an incredibly serious mood state that has major implications for your physical & mental health & the pain it causes is far more intense than simple "yearning." a deep, agonizing longing for human connection is actually a really really big deal

your late twenties is like one of your friends is getting promoted, one of your friends is binge-watching an early 2000′s tv show, one of your friends is moving away, one of your friends is moving home, one just graduated, one just dropped out, one spends all day in bed, at least three of them are getting into crystals and alternative medicine, one of them is changing careers, one of them still “doesn’t know what they want to do with their life” and talks about starting a podcast, one of them is on sabbatical, and everyone’s tummy hurts but they’re being so brave about it
I dont really care if you use the term bisexual or pansexual, but what i DO care about is that you understand that bisexuality at NO stage in history was EVER trans-exclusionary. Bisexuality has always included trans folks, and non-binary folks, and the entire spectrum of gender between male and female, as well as Definitively Gender and agender. It has ALWAYS meant "attraction to more than one gender." It has NEVER meant "attraction to cis men and women only."
So, pan, bi, use whichever label you will. But do NOT buy into the recent-years innacurate concept that bisexuality is attraction to cis men and women only, because thats literally never been the case.
@brassmama exactly.
^^ Like. Its literally right there in the middle of the flag.
And by contrast, this is what the pan flag colours mean:
So literally its just......
bi colours = "same gender, opposite gender, and other genders"
pan colours = "men, women, and nb people."
Those two things are...... not all that different to each other.
The purple has always, literally since the flag was created, meant "more genders."
And bisexuality included "more genders" in the definition before the bi flag was created, too. Thats why they included the purple bar in the first place, because it was reflective of bisexual people's attraction to and relationship with gender.
If you feel that pansexual suits you better, or you like the pan flag more, then thats fine -- but don't spread the misconception that bisexuality is remotely exclusionary. Because its literally never been.
don't believe the lies that other LGBTQ people are your enemy
