krillin from dragon ball super is genuinely one of the most courageously unhinged characters in all of anime and i will not be taking criticism

okay so people sleep on krillin constantly and i think it's because they're measuring him by the wrong standard

like yes obviously he can't compete with goku or vegeta or literally anyone in the top tier of dragon ball super

he knows that

HE KNOWS THAT

that's the whole point

he's not standing up because he thinks he can win. he's not deluded. he has done the math and the math said sit down and he looked at the math and said

and then walked into the fight anyway

fully informed. completely aware. zero illusions about his chances.

that specific flavour of courage — knowing exactly how bad the odds are and showing up regardless — is so much rarer and more impressive than the courage of someone who just doesn't understand the danger they're in

What in the world do people mean when they say that dbs beerus will be more accurate to the manga instead of the anime?

Considering the manga was, at the time, just a preview manga, I'm not sure. Fact of the matter is that it's going to be closer to Toriyama's original Super drafts. We don't know what's in there, only that both the manga and anime have put their own spins on it. This would be closer to that.

Speaking of slice of life, I feel like I am the only one who feels that dbs going seasonal would mean we would get less slice of life because everyone i mention this to never replies back to me and say they feel the same. What about you?

Not necessarily. I think there are examples of seasonal anime that still manage to include SoL moments in there. But honestly, for the sake of the animators and writers, just having more time and room to perfect things and not have to crunch, it's likely a change that would be for the best of those working on it too.

I have none for that very reason. I'm not sure what all is actually being done to it, how it's being revised, etc. I'm sure I'll have many thoughts once we find out.

A little, yeah. Kinda wish we'd at least gotten a peek at the chaos of life back home during all of this. Especially the parents. But they wanted to focus on the adventure aspects, so I get it.

Having good characterization, as it's primarily a character-driven series, imo. But of the two, I'd say story is a bit more important. Animation/Art quality IS also important, however, as it's a visual medium.

seeing the main character of dragonquest xii makes me wonder how close are we the very last db project with involvement from toriyama because sooner or later we will run out.

This is it. That was the last protagonist he designed before he passed. XV3's cast were the last DB characters he designed. There might be more unreleased we haven't seen, but chronologically, this is it.

In SUPER 53, should 18 have been more sensitive to Future Trunks considering his trauma over what her Future counterpart did? Or did she owe him nothing (that was a different person. Not me).

I don't think she did anything wrong there, tbh. It was more meant to be a moment of both how much she'd changed from when Trunks was last there AND how different she was from the 18 in his timeline. She also doesn't really know him very well so she isn't familiar with his triggers, but even then what is she supposed to do? Apologize for things she didn't do and basically not exist around him? Besides, once he saw her interact with her family, he seemed to calm down quite a bit.
