“wait, you’re serious? they’re giving you a real solo debut?” hwan asked, eyes going wide. “seyeon, that’s incredible! when is it happening?”
“i know that you were scheduled for the next cover on the distich youtube channel, but i need a huge favor,” sehwan asked earnestly, eyes pleading. “it’s my sister’s birthday the day after the cover is supposed to come out. i was wondering if you and i could trade, and i could post a cover that day? or maybe we could collab? i want to do a medley of her favorite songs, and some of her groups songs...” @rvbeomsoo @rvlixue @rvmindeulle
bohye was upset. she was used to criticism and people trying to make fun, but sometimes it was a little too much, and some people went too far. and while distich was doing a meet and greet for their new album, someone– a fan or reporter, bohye couldn’t tell– had yelled at her. told her her gimmick was stale and that she was holding the group back. told her that she had no stage presence, and that she was probably hiding behind her mask because she was ugly. told her that she was unprofessional. and it was too much. before the event even ended, she’d excused herself in tears, running to the green room and starting to cry. @rvlixue @rvyoungki @rvbeomsoo @bomirv @rvsehwan @rvmindeulle @rvyoungjin
he wasn’t closest with bohye, of everyone in the group, but he still cared about her. distich was his family-- there were some brothers you got along with better than others, but god forbid anyone hurt any of them. when he saw her get up and leave, he excused himself to follow, standing awkwardly in the doorway, not sure what to do. “do you want me to get you tissues?”
“alright– hear me out,” iori began seriously, eyeing all their groupmates. “every idol group comes to schedules in those black vans. it’s tired. it’s boring. it’s a thing of the past. i say, for our next group schedule, we rent a party bus. with the ugly 80s shag rug from floor to ceiling and everything. what could go wrong?” @rvlixue @rvyoungki @rvbeomsoo @rvsehwan @rvmindeulle @rvbomi
“so we’re going right past limo, into party bus? just wanted to make sure i had it all right,” hwan retorted with a laugh. “is it going to be one of those busses that have tv’s hung up every 5 rows of seats so we can watch movies?”
rvxlance:
“what if i fuck up so bad that they can’t edit it out and keep it in to make me look like a dipshit, huh? what then?” he asked incredulously, only partially joking. “i’m going to bring us all down. it’s cursed.”
“then it must be comedy gold, and everyone will think you’re charismatic and hilarious. it’s happened a billion times,” sehwan insisted.
“i’m going to be honest, i have no idea what i’m doing,” lance said with a laugh, pushing his hair back. millenium had him and junghoon doing the variety circuit for a while, and despite no one knowing who they were, they kind of gained a following– to the point that when one of the shows needed a 1-week fill in MC, they’d actually given him a call. “i feel like i’m gonna fuck all this up. i just need to apologize in advance.”
“people fuck up all the time, dude. don’t worry. it gets edited out,” sehwan assured him. “as long as you keep you fuck ups somewhat short so you don’t run out of time, you’ll be just fine.”
“you know, sometimes my job is a real fucking pain in the ass,” taehyung grumbled, scrubbing his face with his hands. “with all the new vocal trends these days, i’m forced to add so many filters and shit when i’m mixing, and it sounds disgusting more times than not. but it’s my job to comply so i can’t even do anything about it.”
“do you get any sort of creative input at all?” hwan asked with a frown. “it must suck to know something won’t work but have to carry it out anyway...”
“i think my favorite part of lalalilala is how much of a supervillain i got to look like,” mo said, chin resting on their hand. “now or never was fun, but if i got to look like an anime villain every comeback, i think i’d be living the dream. i wish i could just bring that era back.”
“maybe you should find someone in distich to trade with-- i feel like you’d love our concepts,” sehwan laughed. “you know.... you and iori could just swap for a week. see how it goes. i bet no one would even notice.”
“i need your input…” bomi said, chewing on her thumbnail as she paced the practice room. “for the concert……i feel like i’m hitting the choreography and my vocals are stable, but i don’t know how sustainable that is… i want to give our fans the best performance i can, but i don’t want anyone to think i’m being lazy and not doing the dances… what do you think…” @soladarv
he hummed, rubbing his chin. “well......i think wanting to save your voice is a good idea, considering how many tour stops we have,” he pointed out. “i think maybe there could be opportunities to change the choreography? like still have you dance when it’s not your part, but maybe have you step out of the formation when you have to sing?”
