RWBY MLM Week Interest Check

Hey, guys! I know it's been a while since we've posted, but I've been really in need of some MLM positivity lately, so I figured why not try to do another RWBY MLM Week sometime soon?

I wanted to see if this is something fans would be interested in, and if you guys have some suggestions for some specific MLM ship weeks you'd like to see!

Please feel free to send in some suggestions, I'd definitely like to see more from rarepairs, but any positive MLM content would be great!

mercury has no idea how to act around ren so he just acts like a giant asshole (and then later laments to emerald about how ren doesnt seem to like him)

ren is just mildly confused. like yeah mercury is an ass but he doesn’t act like it with rwby or jn to the extent he does with ren

mercury is sitting around all gloomy one day and ren sits down next to him with a couple cups of tea. mercury blushes and snaps “what do you want?” ren raises an eyebrow at him and gestures to the tea. “it’s better when it’s hot”

he sips at it and mercury reluctantly picks his up (even though internally?? losing it.)

“i’d like to know why you’re such an ass to me.” mercury chokes on the tea a little. “what?” ren says “you heard me. why are you such an asshole to me?” mercury blushes brighter and loses the ability to speak. he glares down at his tea. it’s all quiet for a while.

“emerald says you have a crush on me” the cup slips out of mercury’s hand and he barely manages to grab it. “what?” he snarls. ren gives a faint laugh. “do you have another explanation? perhaps a good reason?”

mercury is definitely plotting how to kill emerald and get away with it and ren is just. amused? mercury stews quietly for a bit before whispering, “i do. i have a crush on you.” and ren just sorta hums in reply.

“you have an awful way of showing it.”

“yeah. sorry.”

“it’s okay.”

silence again for a little bit. then:

“would you- uhm. i don’t know how to do this.” ren smiles at him

“would you like to get something to eat? we’re still in atlas for a few more days.” mercury blushes again and gives him a little half-smile (while internally screeching and thanking emerald)

“yeah, i’d like that.”

later mercury throws himself at emerald, picks her up, and yells “I’M GOING ON A DATE AND IT’S ALL THANKS TO YOU, YOU BEAUTIFUL WOMAN!!!!!” emerald is proud of him. also slightly annoyed.

Mercury laughed as Emerald flopped against Ruby’s shoulder, pouting, as she lost another round of the game they were playing. Ren chuckled and laced their fingers together. He was playing on his scroll and barely paying attention to the rest of the people in the room.

It felt good to laugh, loud and free, and it felt good to see Emerald expressing herself freely, too. Ruby patted her head and attempted to explain some of the controls while Yang cheered on her own victory. Mercury turned to Ren.

“Is this what it was like for you guys at Beacon?” he asked softly. Ren tilted his head to the side.

“Not quite. There’s people missing and of course new faces, but…yes. This is similar to how we’d spend free time at Beacon. Well…when RWBY wasn’t chasing Roman Torchwick,” he said with a laugh. Mercury nodded and settled against Ren’s shoulder.

“It’s nice.”

“Yes, it is.”

they met when roman was 25 and qrow was 33. roman was acting as an informant for qrow in exchange for money to take care of neo

they met in junior’s bar

theyre still drinking buddies!!!!

they dated for a while after flirting for months!!! and they were really obvious too. ruby noticed whenever qrow was home that he was kinda off in his own world and neo would hang out with melanie and miltia and make faces at qrow and roman

theyre both awful at relationships!!! but theyre sweet and awkward and shy around one another

they meet for dinner and hold hands under the table and blush the entire time

qrow bought roman that horrible hat

their breakup was amicable!!! they knew it wouldnt last long but it was kind of bittersweet. qrow was really broken up after the fall when he found out roman was gone, even if he had gone downhill in recent times
