“Ah yes… i have to go in to do mines as well” he said bitterly. Interrogation was never fun and Ezra had his fair share of being questioned with most of the time leaving him having to stand infront of a judge reading his sentence. “Oh? Does this mean you wont have private space to woe your conquest?” He said playfully wiggling his eyebrows

“its... so stressful and i can’t even make it through one without completely panicking in the room. i try so hard and still get scared.” she sighed shaking her head. she really thought she was done being asked questions. but no... they keep calling her back. rydel rolled her eyes and giggled. “the closest thing I even have to that is you... and thats just when you sneak over for late night cookies...” but she did smile, she was getting closer to diana and maybe then she could actually say she had a real conquest to bring home.

“you secret is safe with me, ry. they’ll never find out.” cade told her with a smile. you could tell the two of them were comfortable around each other and he was very prideful about being that for her. “of course, you’d think you would know i’m more than just a pretty face by now.” he teased, watching as his cousin jumped around. “do you want to make them tonight? i can grab supplies for you while you do this and i can help you at home, how does that sound?” he offered before nodding his head. “yeah, of course i will and they better come over here too.”

“good because you know it would just bring up a war between everyone and we don’t need that now do we?” rydel said only laughing. her family was strange but somehow cade was always the one who rydel found the most connection with. she loved him. “yes! we can watch something one Netflix and make them over some cookies and hot chocolate. “anyone will listen to you, cade you’re just so darn charming.” she pinched his cheeks and grinned.

calla listened for a moment, nodding her head as the girl explained. “what’s the most you did with william, if you don’t mind me asking?” sure that questions was mainly based off curiosity but it also doubled as a good place to start with the girl. “okay, so when you’re talking to her do you find that there’s a lot of moments where it’s comfortably silent? maybe you can’t help but glance at her lips? or she’s looking at yours? usually those are telltale green lights.” the red head explained softly. “now as for tips to make it the best kiss ever…i’d probably have to actually show you that personally.” she smiled as she sat next to her. “rydel, thank you…you’re so sweet. i hope you know that you’re gorgeous too. i’ll help you, alright?”

“we have been together.” she kept it to the point. she didn’t know calla well and even though she wanted pointers rydel didn’t like talking too much about her past with william. thinking back to the night with diana brough a blush to her cheeks. “it didn’t last as long as i hoped... i invited her to the after party but she kind of ran off after the...video.” rydel sighed, way to go michael, ruining a perfect moment. “but she had a lot to say, none of it was awkward, it was amazing. she just gives me these little butterflies and when she gets nervous about dancing i just helped her...” rydel laughed lightly. her eyes fell to calla’s lips instantly and she grew nervous. “k-kiss you? oh... okay.” she said.

rydel was used to people seeing her as kind and too nice for for her own good. the blonde was a mask of sunshine blinding others of her secrets, the things she’s been through that keep her sad from within. but she never wanted to be a burden. and that was why everyone saw her never break her smile. “hm?” she asked looking up from her phone and finally catching on tio what the other girl had asked her. “oh of course!” rydel said offering her arms out to hold the other girl’s books.

“I don’t think you could make anything sound lame,” Diana smiled. A bit of blush coming on her cheeks, thinking what she said was hella cheesy. She scooted a bit closer to Rydel so there was no space between them, she wanted to be as close as possible to her. When Rydel placed her hands on hers, she felt her stomach start swirling. “It wasn’t you, I should have made that clear- I just fell into my head and sometimes I forget that people aren’t in there with me,” Diana sighed. 

This was the part she was dreading, she had to come up with a way to explain the tension between Michael and her without mentioning the fact that Preston is her brother. Hearing that Rydel was friends with him she fought back an eye roll, of course the sweetest people in the world to her were drawn to Michael like he was light and they were moths. “It- has to do with my family- it’s kind of complicated,” Diana stammered. “I want to tell you, I do, but- I made a promise to my parents…”

“oh trust me, i can. im the queen of ranbling on about the most boring things sometimes and don’t even reailze it until it’s too late and I havr made a big mistake as they are telling me to be quiet. rydel’s heart soured when diana made her way closer to her and rydel linked her fingers with the other girl’s. her hand was so warm to rydel, it was comforting. “good, im glad. but that just means we have to make up for leaving me. I want to go out on a date with you. a real one if you want to do that, of course.” she said to the girl. 

“diana, i’m not going to make you tell me, i promise it’s okay.” rydel sighed. “to be honest we all have secrets and you don’t have to talk about anything if you don’t want to then that is okay.” rydel pressed in closer, now not only where their legs touching but rydel closed all space left. she was so smitten she couldn’t help when she looked at diana and got slightly lost as she looked at her.

Diana smiled, she liked having something in common with the blonde. She made herself comfortable on the bleacher, feeling a bit chilly she brought her arms closer to her core. She did not feel as cold when she was running, she took another sip of her coffee letting it warm her up again. “I know- but it’s still pretty shocking- I can’t even get Lucien out here without a list of complaints,” she chuckled. 

At the mention of homecoming Diana felt her stomach tighten a bit, she knew it had to come up but she hated the way she acted- it was not the Langston thing to. Langston’s face their problems or bury them depending on who you ask. “I know, I didn’t feel good,” Diana admitted. It was true, after the video of Michael she did not feel well at all and had to get out of there. “I really was having a good time with you- honestly the best. It was all could think about since…” Diana paused. “Michael and I were not friends and I really didn’t like him and seeing him broadcasted on that screen brought up bad feelings.”

“next time you come out you should text me and I will happily cheer you on while you run. I can be your little cheerleader or something. unless that just sounds lame.” Rydel said with a soft giggle and sinking into her coat that let her be covered by warmth. she looked over at diana and couldn’t help but smile. she was so fixated on the other girls features she quickly realized the way she changed when the homecoming was brought up. 

“hey, it’s okay. i was just really worried when you ran off like that...then i hadn’t seen you around. i kind of got scared that i did something wrong.” rydel reached forward and placed her hand on top of diana’s and instantly began to feel those little sparks in her stomach again. her eyes fell though. another person who wasn’t a fan of michael. “you weren’t? do...you mind me asking why? i know michael wasn’t liked by a lot of people but, he was my friend. a very kind one even though i do know he has a... not so great past and a lot of rumors about him.” rydel knew she wasn’t going to change the way diana felt about the boy but maybe she could comfort her about the video and running off after seeing it. “i wish that video wasn’t posted just ruining the night.”

calla didn’t know what to expect when cade asked her for help, she hadn’t really spoken to him much when alice isn’t around, but that didn’t stop her from knowing that his cousin was a sweetheart. the boy said his cousin needed some tips when it came to romantically being with a girl, she was nervous which was understandable but she hoped she’d be able to help. she smiled once she opened the door and made eye contact with the blonde in front of her, “yeah, of course.” she said before moving aside and motioning for the girl to come inside. “what has you so nervous?” she asked casually, shutting the door behind her and leading her into the living room. “kissing a girl is almost like kissing a boy, but they have softer lips.” the red head laughed a bit, looking over at her. “how’s your experience with guys if you don’t mind me asking?” she sat down on the couch and patted the cushion beside her, encouraging the girl to sit beside her. if she was going to help, she was going to need more information but she could tell the girl was shy. she placed her hand softly on top of rydel’s as she looked over at her. “it’s alright…just take a deep breath.”  

“im...” rydel sighed. she was not knowing what to expect when she came to calla’s, she just really wanted help in all of this. hell, it wasn’t just the thought of being with a girl but rydel knew she wasn’t good at reading signals. she looked past them and flirting back? unless she was just acting herself she didn’t know how to do that either. “im not experienced at all. the only boyfriend i had was william and well, we didn’t end too well.” she still got that hurt stabbed feeling as she missed the boy everyday, what she would have done to make them work out. “i don’t know what to do, how to know when the best time to kiss her would be. or ant tips to make it the best kiss ever. this is diana, she’s the prettiest girl at this school, what if i do something she doesn’t like?” rydel opened her hands and motioned toward the red head. “you are gorgeous and sexy, calla. i want to be like you. i want to know what to do and not look like a fool when it really happens... if it really happens.”

Flinch when she poked his stomach, ezra pretended that Rydel did not poke his sensitive spot as he tried his best from not laughing out loud. Sitting up straighter from his position he brought the dish closer to his nose and took a deep whiff. “Oh baby this is what i was needing” he said giving Rydel a kiss on the cheeks as if to thank her for the present he got up to get his spoon so he can dig right into the stew. “Oh god! Rydel your going to make someone a lucky person when they marry you” he said in betweem spoonfuls. In no time the stew was gone and Ezra was laying down patting his full stomach “how you been kiddo?” He inquired

 giggling as she watched the boy rydel knew that when she came to hime she was making a good choice. of course, she always had cade, but god, she couldn’t annoy him all the time and ezra was always so fun to be with. “i hoped it would hit the spot, E.” she said scooting onto the bed and finally laying down to look up at the ceiling. “i sure hope so.” she mused, that would be a dream to her. making someone she loved happy every day. “i’ve been good, its been stressful with all these interrogations and everything but i have been able to find some better perks. did i tell you cade invited me to move in with him? i have the best roommate ever now.”

Diana being close to Rydel she couldn’t help but smile, the girl really did radiate beauty and kindness and she felt calmer. Rydel had been running through her mind and seeing her here now- it was crazy that she actually tracked her down. It gave Diana hope that she really was interested in her, she kind of felt bad for avoiding her in the halls.

“Well- I’m glad you did,” Diana smiled. She took the cup of coffee from her and she took a sip and instantly let the warmth of the coffee take over her. She wasn’t as nervous anymore, she had spoken to her before- yet she fucked up, but Rydel found her and that eased things up for her. Diana sat down and patted the spot next to her. “Thank you,” she smiled. “I love cinnamon, you made a good choice- I really appreciate this. Not many people be out here in the cold on purpose.”

rydel was glad she made a good choice. “oh good! and look at that, something we have in common.” a cinnamon girl, rydel would have to make note of that now that she could bake diana something that would hopefully impress her. 

“like i said. i’ve been thinking about you and...i really don’t mind the cold if it meant i got to catch up with you.” she said with a blush growing on her round cheeks. “you know... you ran off at homecoming and i just wanted to make sure everything was okay. i was having a really good time with you.” rydel looked around and sighed. for a moment she thought she was thinking too far into this and that these fluttering feelings were only coming from rydel. “i’m just glad i caught you out here. i was about to feel really silly if i missed you.” she took a sip of her coffee and looked at diana. “so... i missed you at that after party... it’s a real bummer. you would have made it really fun.”

It was weird operating in his own place when he was used to working in a shop, but he has yet to find a parlor he liked that had the same if not some similar work ethic and cleanliness he had. "Alright, what are we doing today?" He inquired taking out his sketch pad and began to sketch a drawing similar to the design description he was given. Once the art was approved he got to work and began using the person skin as the canvas.

rydel really just was an obsessive girl, never doing things small and with cold weather picking up and the need to make stew the blone ended up making a pot big enough to feed an army...or just one boy with a large appetite. any excuse to see ezra and rydel took it so as she took a large tupperwear down to his room she was hoping the boy was around and she wasn’t interrupting his work. 

but as she came across his lonely room of just one being the girl smiled and moved in coming closer to the voice, walkking into the room with the food behind her back. “ezra.” she chimed as she moved to sit next to him on the bed and exposing her gift. “guess who went a bit crazy today.”  she said showing him the food. “i know you get hungry so i brought you all the extras, you are hungry aren’t you?” she asked poking his stomach almost knowing the answer.

“i’m glad i’m still the best in your mind.” cade told his cousin with a laugh. he liked how close the two of them had become, sure it had started off as something family would do, but he honestly cared about rydel more than most things. she was practically his second sister. “should we make some posters as well? we can put them up around school with a set day and time for your meetings.” he offered with a smile. he liked seeing her so happy and hopeful about something, she’s the one person that he knew genuinely gave a shit about, well everything. “i’ll help you spread the word, yeah?”

“i don’t want you to ever tell people this but you are my favorite out of them. I don’t think any of our other family has ever been so kind to me like you.” actually, they were. ever since rydel was attacked the family...treated her like a broken doll. always being careful about what they said, making sure no one asked if they ever found the man who ruined her. cade didn’t do that. he protected her but he never made her feel broken. “posters! i didn’t even think of that! you are a genius, my darling cousin.” she said jumping in her spot. this meant rydel got to be creative and use her decorating skills. “will you tell all your friends to come for me?”

Yes, it was cold but Diana was trying to get her times down. She had become sluggish over the past couple of weeks and that was not going to do. She ran the track again and checked her time, letting out a light groan noticing her time had only gone down slightly. She made a mental note to set alarms for Kennedy and herself, they needed to resume morning runs stat. Diana moved over to the bleachers to stretch when she noticed a figure making her way closer to her. 

As the figure got closer her heart stopped, it was @rxdclhxxd​. Diana immediately straightened up, she hated that she must have looked a mess. She took down her hair and re-tied it in a better straighter ponytail. It was the only thing she could fix before the girl approached her. “Hey,” she mumbled. If she was being honest, she had been avoiding her since homecoming and here she was. “What brings you out here?”

it was obvious. rydel was smitten with just thinking about diana. everytime she mentioned her name, thought about her dress at homecoming, or even spotted the last sight of her turning the corner in the halls a little flutter spun in her tummy causing the best emotions. she had a crush and all she wanted was to spend more time with diana. 

 “Well...call me just hopeful but i have been thinking about you and i knew you did track.” rydel felt silly. she was obviously a basket of nerves as she didn’t want to come off as a creep but she held up the second coffee that she had picked up on the way and gave diana a small grin. “i picked you up something to warm you up... its chilly and figured if you were here you might need a little something.” the blonde said moving a little closer as she offered the coffee out to the other. “it... has a shot of cinnamon. i didn’t know if you’d like it but, well, i love it and, shoot, i should have just gotten a regular shouldn’t I?”

this was weird. as rydel made her way over to calla’s she could feel her heart beating out of her chest. she didn’t even know this girl but cade has said she could help rydel with all her... girl troubles. it wasn’t like rydel didn’t know what to expect but honestly, she’d never liked a girl before and when diana came a long she was taken back by how quickly the crush on the girl became along with the fear of knowing how to get the girl’s attention, rydel just needed pointers on what to do because everyone knew she had a hard time even reading signals when it came to flirting.   as soon as her knuckles rapped on the door her stomach sank. she was about to just turn around and go home, back to her thoughts before she heard the door opened and she was face to face with the red head. “Um... so cade said you can give me some... tips?” she bit her lip hoping she didn’t look so pathetic.

                        face instantly softened after realizing how harsh he’d been with her. he knew he should be exuding positivity ( more so now ) but in all honesty he found the morbid thoughts increasing in his mind.  “ i’m sorry. nah, you’re doing good for this school. do you need helping getting signatures? sometimes having a scary tall dude next to you would help. ”

“im trying whereever i can, william. im not good anyway else so at least with this people will know I tried something. I didn’t give up on cristian.” she just didn’t want to have to sit through another friend’s funeral so close to the last. these students... well everyone was too young for this fate. “Wait really? i bet everyone will sign if you are around, you’ve always had that look that intimidates people.”

        not that damien lacks school spirit or patience or anything,  but when he’s on the way to class,  usually his headphones are a clear signal that he doesn’t want to listen to what someone is talking about on campus.   again,  not that he doesn’t care about whatever they’re asking about,  he just would really prefer to get to class in peace.   especially today when he’s not having the best day,  courtesy of his father who was less than pleased to find out that he was being questioned by the police just for attending homecoming of all things.

        he does raise an eyebrow though when he sees a girl in his peripheral asking him something,  only catching the tail end of what she’s saying.   something about a group helping students  ?   he glances at the clipboard in her hands,  before he’s taking his headphones off.   “  what’s the group gonna do  ?  ”

rydel was certainly an oppimist and she had gotten a lot of... not so great feedback on this but she knew people needed this. they need a place. “it’s going to give students a place to find comfort with each other. I know we have counselors but who really likes going to them? this will help people who can go to others just like them, you know?” rydel pressed the board forward. “It will do good.”   She knew she would never give up a chance to turn down what she feels about her problems so why wouldn’t others?
