I think a lot of the time, people ignore the fact that someone being closeted and someone not coming out explicitly are two different things. Just because a public figure hasn’t screamed their queerness from the rooftops, that doesn’t mean they’re hiding or in denial. Simply existing as a queer person is an option too. Cishets do it all the time without being questioned

every brazilian person i know (approximately 4) is from são paulo. is this a crazy coincidence?

It’s not. São Paulo is the most populated city in all of the Americas AND Southern Hemisphere. The São Paulo metropolitan area represents about 10% of the entire Brazilian population and has 2x the population of the whole country of Portugal.

Considering the south/southeast region of Brazil (where SP is located) contains more English speakers than other regions, it’s just a matter of statistics that if you come across a Brazilian online while speaking English, São Paulo is their most likely location.

The other 90% of Brazilians who aren’t from São Paulo city are also chronically online, but if you can’t speak Portuguese, there’s less of a chance you’ll be able to talk to them.

My job has soaked up all of my negative emotions like a sponge to the extent I don’t even feel anger or sadness outside of work anymore. I’m already all out of it after 5pm.

I think one of the most metal things I’ve ever done was when I played bass in a rock band at uni, and I practiced too hard the day before, so I woke up with a bunch of painful blisters the day of the gig. I couldn’t play. So I brought super glue to the venue and right before sound check I just coated my fingertips in a thick ass layer of super glue. It was like a really thick second skin. Then I played the gig business as usual and spent the next week peeling my fingertips from a crust of super glue, dead skin, and blood

Every day I must fight the 3pm sleepiness

I don’t know why, but in this previous week my days of gay awakening have been coming back to me. It’s been over 10 years now. I’m remembering the feeling of realizing I liked girls, that the flutters in my tummy were never platonic, that the things my imagination fed me were beyond my control, that I’d never have a “normal life”. The mixture of excitement and fear I felt, that slowly morphed into a relaxed joy.

I remember how my thoughts of “I wonder what it’s like” morphed into “I’m going to find out what it’s like” and then once I finally acted on it, became “I love what’s it like”, and that’s where I’ve lived ever since

When the Kendrick and Drake beef first went down it actually put me into a manic-like state of elation. Hearing Kendrick Lamar express his hatred of Drake was so validating for me. And seeing how much everyone was clowning on Drake… I got such a rush from that. It was the high you get when you remove a splinter or pop a pimple.

If I’m on the verge of death, play any of Kendrick Lamar’s diss tracks against Drake. If I don’t wake up to cheer it on you can pull the plug. I’m gone from this world

I don’t care if one of my writing quirks is a sign of AI! I was here with my em dashes, semicolons, Oxford commas, and flowery prose before ChatGPT!!!! Why should I be the one to change? I’m not destroying an entire town’s water supply every time I write a chapter

When people justify using gen AI by talking about how it allows them to do (insert creative hobby) it sends me into a blind rage. The whole point of the creative hobby is to use your brain. Having a machine do it for you defeats the purpose. That’s like saying you’re getting into running marathons then just driving the 42km
