Harness Chic

Some menswear fun! I took a trip to the Crown Art Gallery and trekked around SoHo wearing my one-of-a-kind custom harness...got nothing but compliments!

I love pairing this harness with sleek menswear pieces, such as this buttonless long-line collared shirt.

It has finally been so cold in New York recently, so I had to layer using a long sleeved shirt (with little thumb holes) and my new musher hat. To add a little more to the look, I wore my oversized BDG jeans and black leather Chelsea boots.

Hand Painted Trousers

More white in winter! And this time, it gets custom. I am drooling over these custom white trousers by the one-and-only Patrick Church. These created such a simple, yet dynamic, look for my early-December vibe. I am loving the pop these pants give, especially when paired with this baby pink turtleneck.

Painted Denim

I love patterned denim right now. Even more so, I love when denim is drawn on or painted. Patrick Church does some of the coolest hand painted denim I have seen in a while, both custom and pre-made options. I had the pleasure of styling one of his designs that were based on his infamous personal paintings.

His jeans create a statement, one of which being the fact that you are effortlessly flaunting wearable art.

When Art Meets Fashion

There's a great feeling when you are wearing something truly unique and custom. Today, art and fashion are becoming even more desirable, especially when you get to customize different pieces. Patrick Church is a paragon for creating one-of-kind pieces of wearable art. He has become very well-known in the art and fashion worlds over the years, and his clothes have been seen anywhere between magazine spreads and drag queens. ✨

For this week, I had the pleasure to style five different outfits that highlight Patrick's amazing reimagined vintage fashions. This first post features a full leather get up that is covered in hand-drawn designs. I paired this set with a red turtleneck and Moschino combat boots. I am in love with this head-to-toe custom leather suit as it serves a purpose for any last minute punkiness.

John Varvatos has done it again, and this time with Machine Gun Kelly by his side. 

Following Machine Gun Kelly's closing performance at the John Varvatos Fall/Winter 2017 show, the brand has created a vibe to go along with their "modern renaissance man" feel. Their newest pieces are elegant, yet punky. A perfect collection for the fall season. I am head over heels for this new season of John Varvatos, and obsessing over MGK telling the story of the latest collection. Raun LaRose SS18

Vinyl Vibes

Oversized and longline clothes are trending in both men's and women's fashion. Following the trends can be easy nowadays; however, finding pieces that stand out and take the trends beyond what they are isn't always easy. Raun LaRose has done exactly that! Their Spring/Summer 2018 collection featured amazing vinyl details with funky proportions and minimalisitc patterns.

This collection almost has a futuristic "outer-space" vibe to it, and plays with your typical menswear lines. This collections toys with off-the-shoulder sweaters, tank tops, and turtlenecks to create a group of clothing that is truly distinctive.

BODE SS18

Just Got Out of Bed with BODE

It was very refreshing to step into BODE's New York Fashion Week: Men's presentation and immediately become immersed with a pristine early-morning vibe. Everything was perfect from the lightening and sets to the Spring/Summer 2018 collection. BODE definitely created a collection different from the rest.

BODE followed the trend of bold colors for 2018, but mixed in different patterns and fabrics to create a truly different look. You will find quilted fabrics, lace, and striped patterns.

Carlos Campos SS18

Carlos Campos is Beyond Bold

You all know that I am obsessed with all that Carlos Campos creates. His revolutionarily simple streamline looks standout from the rest. He has mastered making one simple statement after the next. 

Before the show, the vibes backstage were nothing but positive. The Campos team along with the models were all seemed to be enjoying being apart of this statement show. When I arrived, the colors Campos was using this season stood out immediately. 

When the show kicked into gear, I was struck by the perfect array of colors. Merging from powerful reds, into tans, then bold blues. Overall, creating a really structure palate perfectly suited for next summer. Campos also incorporated pattern beautifully, which broke up the intensity of the colors.

Pink As Fuck

All Pink Restaurant? I think yes!

Everyone is searching for that one little spot that has the right amount of 2017 angst mixed with utter artsiness. Pietro Nolita is that place. Located in the infamous Lower East Side, just off the Bowery, sits this 50s style eatery that follows the theme pink. 

The food here is simple, but delicious! Offering lunch, brunch and dinner you will find there assortment to fit exactly what your taste buds want. Currently I'm in a pesto craze, and when I read the description of their Spaghetto al Pesto I immediately knew I was in love.

There is something so special about enjoying a meal in a place where the aesthetic is done to perfection. From the facade into the cute interior, Pietro Nolita knows what your Snapchat stories and Instagram feed are craving. Kiersten modeled their vibe perfectly.

Your Guide to Artsy Dressing

It is no doubt that you would find some of the most funky dressers at one of the most talked about events in the art world. After going through my photos from the Frieze Art Fair, I cam across my favorite looks / fashion that caught my eye amongst all the people that came together to admire art and culture. 

It is important to stand out. One trend that is coming about again now that the weather is finally warming up in the East Coast is patterned outerwear and bombers. Adding a funky pop on top makes any sutble outfit a statement.

Everyone has bags. And everyone has those bags that are either classics that everyone is sick of seeing, or the ones that you are sick of using. A fun way to mix-it-up and add a little flare to the bag is adding your own strap and doing away with the same ol' boring one. You can find straps anywhere and for any price. Prada sells really funky shoulder straps for the luxury-lovers; however, Etsy is a great place to find unique ones as well.

Mix it up. you don't always have to play by the rules, and that is actually a newer fashion trend on its own. Feel inspired to mix up what you have to great a unique look and break away from the status quo. One style that seems to be catching my eye more and more is this everyday avant-garde look. The one that combines this unusual/unconventional way of dressing with very minimal pieces. 

But also, don't shy away from the classics. Yes you should go bold! Yes you should have patterns and paint and shiny shoes... but don't forget about the art of keeping it simple. A modern clean look is one of the hottest trends, and it's awesome.

Be artsy. It's really fun to find and create unique pieces that no one else has. Take that old trench coat you haven't worn in years and splatter paint the shit out of it! Turn your clothes into works of art, and shop harder for pieces that you know will grab the attention of others. If you know artists, have them experiment paints and techniques on your bags and shoes! Don't be affraid to go bold, and add a little artsy burst to your wardrobe.

Bundle Up

The Perfect Cold Day Combo

Even though the weather has been completely unpredictable we are still struck with those freezing cold days where you are out and about and in need of the perfect combo for bundling up. My favorite coat brand is Moncler for anyone who is looking for a strong investment in outerwear. My Moncler puffy coat has been by-my-side for years and is great for any day below 45ºF.

Every good coat needs to be paired with a great scarf. I belive that one can never have too many scarves, especially if you live in a place like NYC where the winters can be brutal. In this look I chose an affordable scarf from Zara, and it is definitely one of my favorites. This accessory is extremely versatile and the color gives is a sophisticated feel. I can guarantee, however, that most of your favorite brand will have a great scarf collection.

Coziness

For Those Snuggling-Up Moments

Happy New Year! For the first post of the new year, I am delivering a guide to the ultiamte cozy look for those at-home winter nights. 

Everyone needs go-to snug essentials. Here are mine:

1) The pullover. Pullover sweatshirts are serve as an essential piece of anyones wardrobe. I love them because they are perfect for layering in the cold months. There are some really cool pullovers on the market by both designer and affordable brands. Acne Studios offers a great selection of signature pullovers (like the one I am wearing in this look), while I love collecting fun ones from Forever 21 and classic cozy ones from American Apparel. 

2) The joggers. Everyone has active days, and everyone has moments where they need to just snuggle up and veg. Joggers are ideal for everyday life. They supply style and maximum comfort, plus they look hot with slip-on sneakers and boots. Most of my joggers are in dark colors so they can remain versatile, and I love to shop for them at Pacsun, Zara, and Forever 21.

3) Vans, duh. These sneakers from this look are my favorite shoes at the moment. Vans offers stylish shoes that are also extremely sensible. They are perfect for adding a little flare to an everyday look, or simply tossing them on when you need to run out of the house.

Vibrant

Stand Out on the Streets

It's important to add colors into your winter wardrobe so you can pop out from the rest while out and about. I love mixing bold colors in a simple way to create a versatile look.

I am obsessed with UNIF and all of their funky collections and pieces. They offer a wide range of unique clothing that is actually practical for everyday life. This sweater from their current "Everyday Bliss" collection creates a statement while keeping me warm all day. It's vivid colors are eye-catching while it's simplistic vintage vibe makes it also very streamline.

To maintain the strength of the sweater I wanted to go somewhat simple with the other pieces, but also use colors that provide a pop. These 7 For All Mankind washed denim jeans kept the outfit simple while the black messenger bag created a refined statement. The green Dr. Martens speak for themselves, plus they are super comfy!

Winter Nights

For Those Somewhat Chilly Nights

It's good to have easy essentials for when you need to be social in the wintertime. Here are my basics.

A variety of outerwear pieces are key to surviving the chilliness. Layering underneath a warm coat is always the safest bet. I love sweaters and long-sleeved tees, but sometimes you want to spice things up because chances are you will be shedding your coat once your are out socializing. Nylon and knitted bomber jackets are my go-to right now. Not only are they on trend, but they are also very warm. 

For this outfit, I kept it to a minimal by coordinated everyhting. I love to pair reds and blacks with natural tones for a city night out because they provide just the right amount of sophistication. I paired my outwear combo with maroon skinny jeans and my Givenchy high-tops.

Have Fun With Your Vintage Denim

There are two trends that I have been obsessed with for the longest time; vintage denim and geek chic. Combining these two looks creates a truly funky style.

Finding good denim piece can be hard nowadays. Often it's in thrift and vintage stores that you can find unique denimwear that gives off that funky vibe. For this post, I wanted to inspire that inner geek that lives in everyone and also remain on trend. These looks feature oversized vintage denim and modern eyewear. While combing skinny ripped jeans and contemporary shoe choices for a more streamline feel. And, it's always fun to mix plaid and denim!

Subtle Pop

Achieve the Sophisticated Pop

Everyone needs a go-to bold pattern. Keeping things minimal is a must in the winter since you will have to incorporate the unpredictable weather into the creating your outfits. It's important to have a look that is sophisticated but also provides a little pop to your day. My current favorite pattern is a vivid camo. For this look, I contrasted the tee (courtesy of Pacsun) with all black everything. This decision kept the look classy. The t-shirt is oversized and that added a flowy look to the outfit by tucking it into my pants, while its distressed detail made this top more of a statement.
