What were you playing? I’m amazing at Mario Kart, if I do say so myself. Anything without Princess Peach as a character and I’m clueless.

Call of Duty, but I wasn’t doing much playing. It was more, my character dying every ten seconds. You like Mario Kart? I might have to play against you sometime, see how good you really are.

I swear, I’m the clumsiest person on earth. Today, I was walking home from work and I tripped on this uneven section of the sidewalk. No big deal, right? Wrong. I managed to do it in the presence of about half of the football team. Let’s just say I will not be outliving my reputation anytime soon, unfortunately. I wish my horoscope had warned me today was not the right day to wear a dress. Or leave the house.

That’s why you look at the ground as you walk, so that you can make sure to avoid tripping over places like that. I’m sure they won’t make fun of you for too long about this. Just a couple weeks.. maybe a month... but no more than that.

Am I really? Clearly the Shepherd smarts were passed down to you and they skipped me. That’s okay, you can take one for the team and be the brainiac.

I suppose so. 

Things are going well… I might be skipping a grade next year so we might have a few classes together.

Skipping a grade? Very nice. Clearly being the son of a neurosurgeon has helped you in the brain development area.

Playing video games again, Ryan? Both you mom and Uncle are brain surgeons, you have to know that staring at a television all day is not good for you.

It’s a good way to keep distracted from other things that need to be done. It might not be good for me, but it keeps me entertained, aside from the whole getting angry at not being able to win. How goes it, Bailey?

I’ve been staring at the screen on my TV for the past two hours, and I’m still no further at passing this level than I was when I started. Pretty sure my butt fell asleep as well, so there’s not going to be any getting up and moving around for a short while.
