I loved this book so much and I really wanted to capture his dark, moody vibe and that intense gaze he has as an elite guard.

I thought I’d start this page with my favorite mess: Cardan Greenbriar. There’s something about the tension in Elfhame that I just can’t stop painting. This is a close-up focus of a piece I’m currently finishing — I really wanted to capture that sharp look of his, where you can’t tell if he’s about to say something cruel or if he’s finally about to give in. No crown this time, just the vulnerability of that specific moment.
