I LOVE POKEMON AND I LOVE THE UNOVA BUGS AHHH

So I made a bug type gym leader oc :7

When making Sacer (a part of Egyptian scarab beetle’s scientific name) I was really inspired by how cat owners view cats vs. how non-cat owners view cats. With my own experience as a cat owner, I’ve noticed that a lot of people complain or have a problem with how cats are “unpredictable” or “unreadable.” But to me and other cat owners, they’re quite simple to read ! You take note of how their tail moves and ears and just general body language. They’re just not as like obvious or transparent ig? As dogs. So with this guy I wanted to portray bug types the same way !!!

People tend to turn the other way at big type Pokémon, and are either grossed out or terrified of them. They view them as unpredictable and pest and don’t even put them at the same sentient level of other Pokémon. But if you take the time to actually learn and pay attention, they can be just as gentle of creatures as all other Pokémon. Sacer listens to the body language of Pokémon, and pays attention to how people act. As such, he became a bug type gym leader- they’re such fascinating creatures, with strong personalities and so sweet when you give them the care they deserve !!

So, originally, Sacer didn’t want to become a gym leader. He started just rescuing bug types he found around urban settings, and rehabilitating them. The two bugs he first found- a Joltik and Venipede, are well known as his partner Pokémon. His joltik was often brought on excursions to help him find ‘mons with its nimble form, and when his Venipede evolved into Whirlipede he often rode it around. Joltik helped him realize all the Pokémon that were disregarded. And that’s when he expanded his operation. But he didn’t have the money for it. Not only that, but there wasn’t any awareness. So he started training- training to become a Pokémon gym leader.

Sacer kinda contrasts his bug types though, cause he’s quite extravagant. He is very expressive and boisterous! But he wants to be able to extend his comfort to his bugs, and share their emotion through his body.

Oh yeah he’s also a part time model. Bro needs that bag.

I started hyperfixating on pistachio cause I really like pistachio icecream but. Your boy ain’t never had an actual pistachio. And somehow the pistachio is so strong it started infecting everything including my other interests so uh.
