family phm updates:

my brother liked it and wasn’t confused after watching (unlike the rest of us xx)

mum got to see the end finally YAY!!! she said the new zealand song they played was random which.. sighh ok mum okk… she also said she’s been telling my uncle to make my cousin watch phm every day since we first watched it which.. god bless her soul.

and my sister still hates eva stratt despite how hard i try and convince her otherwise !!! like not even in the “oh my god she’s a terrible person, she’s done such terrible things for humanity” way she straight up just hates stratt “she’s selfish!! ‘i am telling you this to make what comes next easier’ easier for WHO? she’s saying that so she can sleep at night!!” that what she said to me and i just … cause yeah she’s right lol but that’s what makes stratt so great!!!

reread the betrayal flashback to reference something from the book and i realized stratt spends the entire scene calling him "doctor grace" to try to keep as much emotional distance as possible and then cracks and drops the title and just calls him grace when she begs him to think of the children as he gets dragged away. let's die. let's all just die.

i like to think that rocky helps him by being so blasé about it bc it’s not a big deal in eridian culture. i feel like that level of “hey man i really don’t care, this isn’t a big thing where im from” being shown to ryland while knowing that he’s literally en route to the place where romance/sex is not held in high regard??? would be so exciting and validating!!!! i would never want to leave either i don’t blame him yo

the sulky way he says no again and again when grace tries to get him to give him a thumbs up

the way grace's voice breaks when we says "we got stars to save."

"need word. to risk self to save other." / "dumb." and then writes brave with this sort of painful pride because he doesnt know yet

the way grace steps away to have a moment to himself
