guys i really like project hail mary. in case anyone was wondering

#kit yap session #just finished the movie for the 6th time babeyyyy #rookie numbers i know i know #but im not someone who rewatches films in such short periods of time #not even my other main fandom interest has these numbers! i’ve been in the other one for #hm coming up on 2 years now? and i’ve rewatched those films maybe 3-4 times within that span of time #(admittedly would’ve liked it to be more but idk what stopped me then. idk what’s stopping me now actually! omw to rewatch those also 🪲💨)#compared to getting into phm beginning of may till now #and guess what baby there’s a 7th go on the horizon. i still need to listen to the director’s commentary heheheeheehe #listening. learning. taking notes #rocky uses “rocky/grace” and “i/you” quite interchangeably throughout the film! as opposed to using only names to refer to each other #he bounces around and wiggles so much i love that rock dawg #hm there was something else i noticed but it seems i’ve forgotten. oh nooo guess i have to watch it again oh noooo #there’s the bluray with the deleted scenes coming out soon plus the steelbook thing with THREE DISKS? #could i have been artfighting instead of drawing this yes but it wouldn’t leave my mind and then it turned into a whole thing so oops.#oc art #road trip to hell #cam #rose #for context rose goes missing and cam starts dreaming about him and waking up with directions on where he is #not full directions. bits and pieces. the way you’ve gone a route ten thousand times before but haven’t visited in a while #so you remember as you pass each landmark #so since rose isn’t actually feeding them directions in the dream they end up doing…. something. conversing usually #despite the dreams being in cam’s head cam’s sure they’re actually talking to the real rose #but as the road trip progresses and the dreams get weirder they’re less and less sure of this fact #this context does not apply to this drawing in any literal way but i’m sure it helps. something #also obligatory aroace disclaimer they’re in love but they have no romantic interest in each other it’s some secret third thing

your artsyle is everything to meeeeeee i really hope it's okay that ive been saving your artworks and trying to copy poses based off of them because your skill is unbelievable and i desperately want to figure out How You're Doing It That Well. the characters you draw are so expressive looking it seriously baffles me. even the real simple doodles look so good?? HOW. one day i may discover the secret sauce recipe but until then i am observing and giving you the world's loudest round of applause for being awesome

thanks dawg…… what an honor to be considered goated with the sauce… that’s kind of crazy to me because i’m still figuring out the whole pose thing myself haha. glad to know im doing something alright! i do recommend trying out quickposes dot com i think it’s helped a lot in that department 👍👍

a lot of the doodles i make nowadays are freehanded so i don’t have many nice recent examples but if it helps here’s some of the sketches i’ve done for various drawings here and there! i think of them sort of like they’re 3d models first (my method of sketching is like a really oversimplified way of drawing 3d, with a couple contour lines for the joints and the head for facial feature placement) which might be a little hard if you can’t rotate the apple in your head? but anyway hopefully these are easier to figure out than the finished things:
