Life is to short to be serious and professional all the time. But you’re right. It happens at the worse time. Once I get laughing, its hard for me to forget what started it, which inevitably causes me to laugh even harder. Its a train wreck. Well maybe so but new material never fails to draw a reaction, good or bad.
Oh, ain’t that the truth! It’s always so much better to look at life from a more comedic point of view, you know? If you’re sad and mopey all the time about stuff, it’s gonna be one depressing life. Especially when there’s so much shit in the world. Oh, for me it’s like-- sometimes I would start laughing, so hard that I forget what I was laughing so much about... and then it dawns on me again, after a good moment, which brings the second wave of laughter, even harder than the first one. It’s a whole avalanche.
royalevgenia:
Oh wow, you are busy. Some of them are just awful, but I think the worst one I have ever seen is Earth Girls are Easy. Not Russian, has Jim Carrey in it and it’s.. Awful.
No... Oh come on, no. Listen, Earth Girls are Easy is a golden classic that’s forgotten and needs to be appreciated. It’s Jim Carrey after all. It’s been memed to death already, which only adds to it, I think. You know which Jim Carrey film gets a completely bad rap, though? The Cable Guy. I fuckin’ love that shit, and I don’t understand why people don’t.

It’s okay, there’s not really anything you can do. I’m just sick of seeing the same four walls all day every day. Part of me realizes that I can’t just get up and leave, but it’s tough. There’s so many places I’d rather be, y’know? But it’s my own fault for letting things… get out of control when I thought I knew what I was doing.
I understand that it might be the last thing you wanna hear right now -- some guy trying to give you a piece of advice -- but trust me on this, it does get better. One thing I have learned in life is that it’s never too late to do anything; getting back on your feet is one of those things. If you met me about a decade or so ago, I would’ve been vegetating on my couch, playing Morrowind and taking bong hits three times a day or something. I’ve been clean for a good seven years now and I know that if I had slipped, there’s always a way to get back up again, even if it doesn’t seem so. Especially when you have people who care shitloads about you.

Is it bad that I barely remember the movies, much less the soundtrack? Like I know they’re great movies but it’s been so long since I’ve seen them that I feel I can’t talk about this with you until I’ve refreshed my memory. And yes, you can go ahead and give me hell for it. But once I get up. To speed, we can definitely return to the topic. Babies are literally the best thing in the world and I’m holding firm on my stance that one day Pip will have a sibling.
It’s not that bad, actually. I mean, for different people, childhood was defined by different kind of films and music. I’ve seen Karate Kid more times than I can remember, so it would make sense that it stuck with me, you know? Oh, I love babies. Children, in general. Becoming an uncle was the best thing that happened to me -- and then becoming an honorary uncle other two times was just as great.
ryljoylenz:
Tomorrow afternoon, early evening is perfect.
There you go, then it’s sorted. It’s gonna be so much fun. It’s gonna be great!
Text from Suzy: DANNNYYYY
[ text ] :: SUZZZZYYYY!! My sweet sweet Suzy! When will I get to see the girls again? I am feeling a terrible withdrawal of drooling babies in my life, did you know that?

ryljoylenz:
Okay let me reword that cause I am attending the premiere with a friend. I am free pretty much at a drop of a hat. Just not tonight. I know, I know.
See? Good thing I made sure before making any decisions. Um... so, how about tomorrow, then? I’m basically free all day and it would be a nice way to let Brian have a day off with the family while we’re working on the track. I might have also missed making you laugh with my silly jokes, but that’s besides the point.
ryljoylenz:
I am pretty free right now. I have a few things next month and also in September. I can be there at a snap of the fingers as they say. I have to admit I missed your humor.
Wait... really? You mean, like, now now? It’s a bit late to start, especially on Saturday, and then there’s this premiere of a film or something... but if you’re free, we can definitely work for a couple hours, see how it goes and then continue tomorrow or something? And I have missed you getting most of the references I make; it’s the 80′s kids in us.
ryljoylenz:
Just tell me when and where, I will be there.
Well, we could do it at some point next week, if you have a couple afternoons free? I’m working at the studio through most of the days, so I just need to know when you’re available to come and stone us... just like Jelly Roll. I promise, no more obscure music references after this one.
ryljoylenz:
Dan, we are still friends and I was excited to work on that with you. If you still want me to take part I would be honored.
Well, of course. I mean... yeah. Sorry, I just let things get to my head sometimes. It’s a habit I’m trying to work through, if I’m being honest. I would absolutely love to record that with you.
ryljoylenz:
You know I always have time for you.
It’s about the album, actually. Remember when we talked about the Starship song? The one from the Mannequin? I’ll understand if you don’t wanna do that anymore, but I’d actually still love it if you wanted to do the Grace Slick part for the cover?
msirinashayk:
Is he? He’s must be a very strong, patient man to do so, because we aren’t easy to be with, at times. But if he knows how to get along with that, he’ll have someone deeply loyal by his side. We are, yes - there’s always a reason to be merry and happy, even in the darkest of days. It was a nice evening, wasn’t it? Totally worth it, and honestly, drinking in company is the best you can do. Drinking alone sounds very lonely. Said wrong? What do you mean? I might have to apologise, too, for raving about your hair and wanting to know all your secrets…
Well, to begin with, he’s Irish -- so they probably solve all the problems over common stereotype of loving to drink, you know? She’s lovely -- I’ve met her a few times, but you’re still the first Russian I’ve actually hung out for an extended period of time and that was a super cool night, by the way. I definitely had a lot of fun. Well, you don’t need to worry -- I hear that quite often, you know? Besides, your comments about my hair are forgiven if you forgive me raving about your accent and also if you forgive those awful pick-up lines from me that we’re not ever going to mention again. Deal? Deal!
ryl-ajcook:
And once you start you can’t stop, despite your hardest effort–I feel that on a deep level. And you’ll have to let me now the reactions you get it.
I know, right? I hate it and love it when it happens, all at once. Because most often than not, it’s when you need to be serious and professional and all, but you can’t stop laughing. -- I will! Although I doubt people will notice anything different; I say silly stuff like that all the time anyway.
ryljoylenz:
She is great. Thank you, Dan, that means a lot coming from you.
Oh, come on. It’s not like I’ve said something special -- I’m just telling the truth. I haven’t spent a lot of time with you and Maria, but I already could tell that she’s got all the best qualities from you. -- Also, I wanted to talk to you about something, if you had a minute?
ryljoylenz:
Actually lots of different film festivals right now with different projects. Also spending time with Maria when she is here along my friends. So the usual you could say.
Oh, that’s so sweet. How is that little ass-kicker? I missed her. I’m sure she’s doing great -- she’s got a great mother, after all. Yeah, pretty usual. I mean, same here. It might seem cool and busy, but it’s pretty usual.
fiercevato:
But sharks are basically the coolest animals out there. Shark Week is one of my favorite times of the year. Honestly? I’ve been better.
Nah, I can’t handle sharks. Hell, there’s this awesome slide in town, and I can’t handle that either, so... yeah, it’s not gonna happen. Sharks are just... yeah, not my think. I’m sorry to hear that, really. Um, if there’s anything I can do for you, anything at all, just let me know. I’d hate to see you like that.
