I’m sitting alone on this eerie, Wednesday night, the inner turmoil fighting its way through my stagnant exterior. It’s funny how it all comes back to you; every dark thought, every self-doubt. Every fiber that had once twined itself to yours is now suddenly severed. Or were we ever interwoven? Did I suction cup every appendage to your shiny, slippery surface? Did I cling, through all the waves, through all the winds, and think love was always meant to be rocky? And you, smooth sailing with the wind in your hair and the prettiest view, until you got tired of the sun in your eyes and settled on a new course. Now, don’t get me wrong, I still dream in sunshine and sonnets. But, sometimes I gasp myself awake, too afraid of falling victim to the inevitable end. And so it goes…
