Honestly I’m obsessed with paper mache… It’s literally making garbage into art. Pulverize ur junk mail and make it into something useful, like a giant bug. Hang the giant bug on your wall!!! It’s so cheap and can look so sick. A top tier recession craft. Get your friends 🫵 have a paper mache party 🫵
The Bird of Self Knowledge ✨✨✨
Quilt dreams
maybe it’s confirmation bias since I’m very into it right now, but I love seeing a lot of people embrace prehistory in their art, it’s such a hopeful fascination. Cradling the first spark of humanity in your mind’s palm. Like yes our ancient ancestors were getting eaten by sabertooth tigers BUT ☝️ also they draw horse. much like I myself, draw horse
not like the other girls 🦇
The very beginning of a new paper mache project im working on based off an old folk art motif, "The Bird of Self Knowledge", which i first saw in the above 1600s painting by Vogel Selbsterkenntnis. In my little bit of research into it I read it represents the sentiment of knowing yourself, and therefore being able to free yourself. And yes, knowing yourself DOES sometimes feel like a giant bird pinching the fuck out of your nose (you both are the bird and also a victim of bird 😔 rip). Anyway I love it, I find it so compelling and funny and im gonna hang this goofy thing on my wall

Adventures in paper mache!! I have 1 million ideas for more >:)

process sketch for a big, ridiculous wrestling painting, like three feet across. I think in my head it was supposed to be way sillier, but I made them too tough n cool and dramatically lit. This is the problem when doing digital sketches for a physical painting. The colors are fun, but I think the lighting needs to be flat for what I’m going for and the characters even more stylized, with most of the visual interest in texture maybe a little collage. Tralalala wrestling ya feel me. Still like this drawing though :)
i love ur manticore and their child art, the colours and textures are so wonderful, it reminds me of a needlepoint artwork almost very cooool
Thank you very much!! 💚 that’s neat it made you think of needlepoint, I love a good textile :)

I just purchased a canvas print of your Paleolithic Horse being abducted. I’ve never been so drawn to a piece of art before. Love it. Amazing. Please continue the amazing artwork <3
