In a press release, Pia Corporation have announced a new mook (magazine/book) in their series of Pia mooks on anime characters; "Mobile Police Patlabor Shigeo Shiba x Pia". As per the two previously released Pia mooks on Noa Izumi and Kiichi Gotoh back in 2020, this mook focuses on SV2 labor mechanic Shigeo Shiba. The mook contains interviews with Shige's voice actor Shigeru Chiba and Patlabor mecha designer and director of "Patlabor Ezy" Yutaka Izubuchi, an A3 poster featuring memorable scenes and quotes from Shige, a thorough analysis of Shigeo Shiba's appeal, including his memorable scenes, famous quotes, and a story recap, plus columns discussing the timeline in the world of Patlabor and manufacturers and the types of labors used in the franchise. The cover artwork is by Akemi Takada.
The mook will be A4 sized, 96 pages long, will cost ¥1,925 and be released on 5 August 2026. A bonus of a clear file featuring the mook's cover artwork will be available from physical Tsutaya stores only. Unfortunately you can't get the clear file via Tsutaya's online store. In addition Pia Corporation is reprinting both Noa Izumi and Kiichi Gotoh Pia character mooks which have been out of print for some time.
