in fairness, Arthur probably deserved it

Thinking about Electric Fan (Feel It Motherfuckers) and how I can evoke a similar kind of tragic heartache with Malevolent

I think about Parker’s death being a murder, I think about the crime scene being 13th Mosby Ave. where he lived essentially. The place being locked up by the police in Arkham, and the belongings of Parker now being evidence in a crime scene.

I think about them being taken into the station, and his family never being able to properly claim them because the investigation was still ongoing. Nothing left to remember your brother, your son, because his home could’ve been an accessory to crime.

I think about how Molly might’ve handled this. The invisible grief of losing your sibling. It must be so hard to lose a child, take care of your parents Molly. And yet, there’s a gaping absence in her life now, one she feels she cannot talk about. I think about how Molly probably felt so small without her big brother.

Maybe she only has a cigarette box she stole from her brother left. Maybe it’s only the bits and pieces of him left unclaimed by the police, the small memories she has left of him.
