Based off my headcanon that none of the scars from the dreamlands are visible in the waking/normal world. So I made a small tweak to my Noel design and I gave him a bracelet from Lorick. The context of this mini comic is that Lorick knows Noel’s scars won’t follow him but the pain will. He will feel like he’s going insane because if he has no proof of the time there, did he ever get out? It makes him susceptible to madness and even if the King is done with him, there is always the risk. So Lorick give Noel one of his own bracelets, he tells Noel that it won’t disappear upon his return to the human world. He must remember that it is a sign he’s escaped, Lorick wouldn’t have given it otherwise. On bad nights, when Charlie cannot tell if he’s back there, he feels for the comforting cold weight of beads on his wrist, and reminds himself of The Cana’s words. It brings him small comfort, when there is nothing else to show him, not even his mind and body, that he is free.
