Some people seem to mix the renaissance period with the medieval era which is quite common as the late 1400s was when the renaissance period had begun and so they overlap, however the renaissance is not universally regarded as time period but as a cultural movement and when someone refers to the renaissance as a time period its usually best described as the era after the middle ages had ended.
Life in the medieval era was very different from today. People lived in small villages, and most worked as farmers compared to today where most people live in big cities and there are many career options available.
Society was structured like a pyramid with the king at the top, knights and warriors in the middle, and peasants at the bottom. The catholic church was very important in society as well as knighthood as it was associated with chivalry, honour and how devoted they are to fight for their purpose
The middle ages was also a time of significant change, leading to the growth of cities, trade, and the beginnings of modern nations.
