‑Background source

The Death of Achilles, a Baroque oil sketch by Peter Paul Rubens, c.1630‑1635. The piece draws on the myth of Achilles’ heel and the homoerotic bond between Achilles and Patroclus. I cropped the fragment showing Apollo extending his hand, secretly guiding Paris to shoot the poisoned arrow that strikes Achilles’ vulnerable heel. Achilles’ figure is omitted to leave negative space for my central subject.

i originally only intended to paint a feline‑themed piece, but I ended up making a whole plate of dumplings just for a splash of vinegar as always.duh.Drawing on the Book of Revelation, the leopard symbolises worldly temptation and carnal desire. I toned down the beast’s ferocity: desire is no raving demon, but an innate part of human nature. It seldom strikes with brute force; instead it looms and erodes slowly, mirroring long‑term self‑shame and repression.
