Friday’s Father and Son Face-Acting
I like it when Foyle actually makes a speech. I love the face acting, but sometimes I just want to hear him talk. He is always adorable either way.

Friday’s Father and Son Face-Acting

Some Henry Kent face-acting.
And what a face …
The lovely young law office secretary (Caroline Catz) receiving these mesmerizing glances ultimately meets a very bad fate through this man. Yet somehow, although the character Steven Vey is (in my dad’s words) pretty damned scurvy, Michael Kitchen makes many viewers feel some sympathy for him in The Guilty (1992).
About the closest Foyle’s War ever let us get to a present-day romantic interest for Christopher Foyle was his acquaintanceship with the initially misandrist Barbara Hicks (Stella Gonet). But I’ve always felt that Michael Kitchen plays Foyle as rather uneasy with her all the way through, as evidenced by these awkward little smiles (first three shots) he bestows upon her. Compare to the way he smiles at his driver (pictured), a friend with whom he feels completely comfortable.
As I am writing a fanfic about the characters in Enchanted April, let’s take a few days to examine the beauty and intricacy of George Briggs. He’s quite different from the somewhat shallow young man in the book, who does fall instantly in love with the glamorous Caroline Dester the moment he sees her, rapidly forgetting Rose Arbuthnot. I’ve always wondered who thought up his visual impairment for this 1991 version of the movie–that was not an element of the novel. Did Michael Kitchen add that lovely touch as he developed his character? Here are some screen shots from his first scene. They show us the multifaceted George; he is nerdy and slightly goofy at the same time that he is riveting; he’s sweet and odd, polite and perhaps a little shambling, and yet reveals a streak of confidence. The way that Kitchen plays the character, the clarity of his eyesight seems to come and go. Fascinating.
Whatever the reason, I’m pleased you are following. Your comments are funny and smart and I truly enjoy hearing from you. Thanks.
Thanks ever so much dear BD. Think you know which one some of us prefer!!
Not A Happy Henry
Henry is less than thrilled when he learns of Daisy’s weekend plans.
(Is anyone else distracted by the button on his shirt that looks like it’s trying to come out of its hole, leaving a gap through which we receive teasing virtual glimpses of what’s underneath? No, I’m sure you’re all above that. It’s probably just me.)
I’m right there with you my friend! :D
Very easily distracted by this one xxx
Foyle looks grumpy and disgusted for much of “Killing Time”. But he has a completely different demeanor when he takes the fish to Sam. Look how incredibly pleased he looks to be giving them to her! And a tiny bit shy?
Gratuitous nape shot.
What a catch, indeed.
And there’s a great fanfic about this moment by @bkwormkate here!
Thanks for the shout out! :) So love this moment!
I do, too. Great fanfic! Thanks!
Gratuitous nape shot 😍
Where's the Foyle's War fandom at?
New to Tumblr, wanting some Foyle on my dash. Just looking…
We are small group, but very enthusiastic. And we have tea.
*raises tea mug in salute*
Unfortunately Foyle only drinks coffee…. I have coffee…. In a cup…. Under a box… That’s propped up with a stick… That has a string tied to it. I’m gonna trap me a wascally Foyle!
Hello everyone! Thanks for the rather fetching Foyles on my dash.
*nods my head and raises my, now slightly cold, cup of tea in responding salute*
Hello.
Welcome to this division of a cooperative which is under a subsidiary that’s part of a sub-section of Tumblr’s Foyle’s War/Kitchen fandom 😉
As you may have noticed, we’re a humble bunch, but we come running when summoned.
We might even take the steps two at a time!
And come down them even more quickly.
Yes, ALL of them!
Run, Kitchen, run!!
I love this fandom!
Best fandom ever! IMHO
This fandom rocks! 😊
I couldn’t agree more!
Roman and Anna Are At It Again
Well, not “it”.
He does have her in handcuffs though…
“I could kill the air for touching you, I’m so jealous. I can’t stand the thought of you being with anybody else.”
Just one more reason why I dig Rrroman so much. He’s IN-SANE. I like that in a man (kidding!) Especially when he looks like ^ that ^ (not kidding!)
(By request for mkmohair ;O)
Michael. A man of mystery in the universe.
Michael Kitchen as Greg Brentwood in “Alibi”
Sam runs and Foyle, well, saunters. Part of the new series of Detectives running, or in Foyle’s case hurrying.
Happy #FoyleFriday all.
