WIP ask:
Aspidistra?
As you may have cleverly anticipated, there are metaphorical aspidistras at the Duchess of Denver's Terrible, Horrible, No-Good, Very Bad Christmas Party:
“All right,” said Peter placatingly, “nobody’s chucking aspidistras.”
'courage' for the WIP guessing game
I couldn't find courage itself directly (alas!) but found one of its relatives:
I mean: she’s so fine and courageous that she just goes straight ahead when she thinks something needs doing, and she doesn’t seem to mind the risk, and Wilfred’s the same way, and…”
WIP ask: kiss!
Surprisingly difficult to find the noun rather than the associated verb! But here it is, from The Silly Bodyguard AU:
Brienne bent, and pressed a kiss against the crown of his head.
Ask game: whippersnapper
What a fun word! I regret to say that it is not in any of my WIPs.
Bill Gibb for Baccarat, Renaissance Pinafore Dress With Terracotta Shirt, ca. 1970.

Ask?
Thank you! From the 1930s Ivanhoe AU (sic):
But hearing Rebecca ask after Gurth’s health and his dog, and even smile a little when he recounted Fang’s latest mischief and achievements, Wilfred thought that perhaps he had made the right choice after all.
WIP ask: submarine
Alas, I appear to have no submarine! No submarines in Foyle fic, and the fic set in the 1960s is just too early for the yellow one. (Thanks for the ask, though!)
For the WIP word asks: breathe or sleep?
Thank you! I think you have already seen this, but, from Ivanhoe Noir:
Temple looked down at her, slumped against his shoulder, her face slack with sleep, and he wondered how many kinds of fool he was.
Fanfiction Work-In-Progress Guessing Game
