Maedros in progress

I always think about drawing elves as they ride onto the battlefield. I drew Feanor on a horse and thought it was a great idea for a series of art. What better way to show a character's personality than before a battle? Where are they looking? With what emotion? What are they feeling? Shame? Fear? Empathy? Unpreparedness? Each has their own. I think I'll try to convey these emotions through Maedros's gaze.

When elves wear helmets, their magnificent ears are hidden, so I added wings and now it looks like a Valkyrie to me.
