having free control over our endrocrine systems and the ability to change our genitals is currently inextricably tied to trans rights, and for good reason, but frankly i don't think it even needs to be. it should just be a matter of bodily autonomy, and that should be universal. if a cis dude wants tits and a pussy i think that would be fine. if cis women want a dick or nothing at all that should be allowed i think. people shouldn't need to be transgender to be allowed to change their bodies. free the nipple, enlarge the nipple, remove the nipple. whatever the fuck you want. i dont know if there's a term for this belief but i hold it very strongly. everybody biohack yourselves NOW
also. much to be said about the realism of course. and how it makes navigating the world less intuitive. people complain about yellow paint while foaming at the mouth for more skin pores and leaf physics. babe the yellow paint is there to compensate for the lack of intuitive environmental design and striking aesthetics where your options are immediately observable to you, because realism very rarely accounts for something like that. if you don't parkour as a hobby i don't imagine you'll see everyday environments from a particularly traversable point of view, and arguably that translates even harder to video games where your framework for observing that environment is filtered through the lens of being a player. like they have to make doorframes bigger than in real life to make them look natural in game engines. and you'll drink your yellow paint with glee or start trying out more experimental graphical choices to know what you're missing
bg3 isn't bad i think i can stomach it in single player also, provided i only play dragonborns lest i succumb to a cisnormative character creator, and also do my best to ignore the uncanny human models and all. if anything i feel my biggest issues here are with the dnd of it, which is just. not intuitive gameplay to me at all. it asks and requires active problem solving on my part at every turn in order to navigate the world. it pushes me to abuse the quicksave system on every bad roll, except the crit fail i got when meeting astarion bc that was funny to me. this shit fries my brain but not in a puzzle game way where i generally have time to think about one contained puzzle within a specific set of mechanics. not that the player freedom is a bad design choice, plenty of people enjoy the creativity that it enables, but when combined with combat it is very terribly exhausting to experience for me at least. game that gives you a type of performance anxiety. no wonder it's easier in multiplayer when the people who've already played it can script the battles for you

anyway i fucking hate gale actually
spent forty-five minutes today helping an 87yo woman who does not own a computer or a cell phone try to set up an email account so that she could then set up a second account in order to access benefits. went with protonmail, because they don't require 2fa, but it turns out that while you can still make a protonmail account without authentication you can no longer use it to create OTHER accounts without it, and the benefits page she needed to get to required both an email and a cell phone to create an account anyway. asked if she wanted to try going in person to see if someone there could help her, and she said that she had, and they'd directed her to the website. she tried signing up with her landline, but of course that didn't work because you can't do SMS authentication that way. finally ended up writing up detailed instructions for how to log in and authenticate her account so she can drive to her severely disabled daughter's house forty minutes away because that's the only person she knows and trusts who has both a cell phone and a computer.
anyway i fucking hate mandatory 2fa and i think the people responsible for it should have to spend a year navigating their lives with no cell phone and no internet access beyond the public library pcs. fuck.
im starting to realize that we maybe have not played rpgs with significant player dialogue choices bc yeah it takes us an hour pick something. and then someone freaks out when we pick wrong of course
