got a secret, can you keep it?
Sabrina and Carter made plans earlier in the week to hang out this afternoon but one thing led to another and her parents made plans to go out and Dani was out doing something else so Sabrina got left to babysit Emily. Sabrina didn’t have any issues with it but it was always very bittersweet being left alone with her. She sent Carter a text and told him if he still wanted to hang out he could come to her place and she sent him the address. She was sitting on the couch waiting on him while Emily was asleep and then she heard her stir up from her nap. Sabrina got up and unlocked the front door and shot Carter another text letting him know to just come in and come upstairs to find her if she wasn’t back downstairs when he arrived.
Sabrina made her way up to Emily’s room and she looked down to her little girl laying there in the crib playing with her hands. “Hello, gorgeous.” Sabrina smiled to the girl and grabbed a blanket and laid it on the ground and pulled out some toys to play with while she waited on Carter. Quickly after she picked Emily up and placed her on her baby changer and changed her diaper quickly. Once that was done she placed her on the ground and sat down next to her and started to play with her. She had light brown hair and hazel eyes. Her eyes were the only thing she got from her father other than that she looked exactly like Sabrina. “Hello, baby.” Sabrina started to play music on one of her toys and hummed along to the lullaby. Sabrina wanted to talk to her like she did when they were alone but she was scared Carter would walk in. After a moment she figured she’d hear Carter come around the corner and could stop in enough time.
“You know I love you, right? You’re my angel. I’ve done a lot of messed up things in my life. I’ve made a lot of mistakes but you are the one good thing I ever made.” She gently ran her hand over Emily’s head and kissed her on the lips. “Mommy is sorry for trying to leave you but you know it’s hard. It’s so hard to pretend to not be your mommy but one day we’ll get out of here. One day we’ll be where we’re meant to be back in New York. I’m never gonna let anything try and separate us again, I promise.”
