We are an open, multiverse roleplaying group for the Legend of Zelda series. For information on characters and how to join, please read the "masterlist" and "forms" pages, which can be found on the left.
I have an unfortunate announcement. Because of a lack of activity both in the group and on my part, the Sacred Realm will be doing one of two things.
I will either close the group permanently, or if anyone thinks they have the time and energy to run the group and get it going again, I will had the keys over to them. Please send a message if you would be interested in this.
I want to make a huge apology for my lack of visibility in the group - I did intend to be very active within it, but graduate school is getting the better of me. With that being said, I greatly appreciate all of you who have been part of the group - it's been fun and I hope that you enjoy all of your future roleplay endeavors!
I'm sorry but I'm going to have to drop Zelda due to me being busy with exams and school work (I leave school in like 60 days or something now ahh). I had fun roleplaying with the few people I had threads with and hopefully once my summer holidays start I may come back if the place hasn't been taken. Though I think its only fair to leave it open for someone who may want it.
We enjoyed having you here! Good luck with school and all your future RP endeavors!
We have an official announcement to make - Sacred Realm will now be going open! We feel that the ability to RP with those from other groups will give you more enjoyment and opportunity, and we will be updating the rules accordingly.
Also, a second item to touch on. We know activity is still fairly slow due to real life. This is okay, but we would ideally like for you to post at least once every two weeks, and we will do bi-weekly checks each Sunday. If you haven't posted in two weeks, you will be sent a warning, and if you do not have activity within three days after the warning, you will be dropped.
Now, get out there and have fun!
Edit: In the spirit of open-group activities, though we still encourage literate roleplays, other types will also be accepted.
Congratulations! We're excited to get in touch with our dark side~
Please have your url to us by February 24th.
In Character
Character Name: Dark Link
Short Biography: The Master Sword may only be wielded by one who is pure of heart, and thus when a Hero comes to wield it, any ill in him is driven out by the blade's power. In the case of the Hero of Time, this darkness did not die off or disperse, but was somehow formed into its own malevolent being. Partially connected to its source, it gains power from any negative feeling or thought and, if strong enough, may manifest when the Hero views his reflection.
Personality: Everything Link very well might have been in his situation, but isn't. Dark Link is selfish, spiteful, pessimistic, and violent. Nonetheless, it may still mirror the Hero in other elements of its personality.
RP Sample:
Each glancing blow the Hero struck, the shadow paid no mind. It was getting back what power it lost through its wounds tenfold.
It could reflect the other's moves almost without thinking, which was fortunate, for the dark creature had plenty of other things on its scattered mind. Seven years of waiting and its haphazard plan of action was at the brink of coming to fruition, pushed further by each drop its counterpart bled. That was it, that was all it needed, just that last little bit of fear, of pain, of power. So driven was it by the addicting promise of existence that it failed to realize that as its body grew more tangible, its wounds did as well.
It must have finally gained enough strength to pull itself into a corporeal form, for how crushing that last blow felt when it met it.
It is I, Hilda of Lorule. I wanted to say this earlier... but I am afraid there were a few complications to say the least... [ Princess Hilda is here at last! I really must apologize for the delay. ]
Please have your blog url and an incredible display of power prepared for us by February 12th.
Short Biography: Initially heralded as the King of Thieves, he sought out the power of the Triforce through any means necessary, including feigning allegiance to and killing the King of Hyrule for his own gain. He successfully obtained the Triforce of Power with the unknowing help of the young Princess Zelda and a foolish boy named Link when he opened the gateway into the Sacred Realm, and later spent seven long years seeking out the other Triforce pieces in hopes of ultimate power since Power alone was not enough for him. He would later be thwarted in his endeavours by Link and sealed away in the Sacred Realm for eternity (may elaborate more on this later).
Personality: Cold and cunning, Ganondorf is a force to be reckoned with. He is fully aware of the power he possesses and uses it to his advantage where he sees fit. It isn't uncommon that Ganondorf sees others as beneath him; even his most loyal subjects or minions are little more than pawns or puzzle pieces to him. If he once had a shred of compassion for others, it has long since dwindled and died in his lust for absolute power, a goal which he aims for regardless of the cost. He also has an explosive temper, which is often masked beneath a guise of unsettling calm, easily giving him a foreboding and intimidating presence. Ganondorf is also an intelligent and articulate man, which has given him the edge on learning magic and battle tactics, as well as manipulating others to his whim. He also has an appreciation for music, which he dabbles in as a hobby, else he is a ruthless tyrant who enjoys being feared.
RP Sample: (I kinda whipped this up over the course of a couple of days, I hope it will suffice.)
Years have passed since Ganondorf succeeded the throne to Hyrule, the land now long since twisted into the desolate decay of its former might. War against the dark tyrant had yielded terrible misfortune upon the people of the now broken kingdom; death and destruction had welcomed and obliterated all who had opposed Ganondorf and his power, forcing open the pathway to unforgiving monsters and resurrected demons to take control of the land. All was his now, save for a small, dwindling stronghold in the village of Kakariko, which would be dealt with in due time.
However, with all of Hyrule under his control, it was not enough for the Evil King. His hands had touched and felt the full power of the goddesses once before; power, which he now possesses all but a fragment of their might. It was not enough. It was never enough, and so he had sought tirelessly to gain the power he felt was rightfully his though his efforts have proven vain. Even the missing princess, who he had devised on drawing out of her hiding place by bestowing misery on her subjects refused to show; but despite objections to the contrary, he felt they must press on with finding her regardless. Part of him felt – no – part of him knew she could not have gone far. He was certain that even having fled the kingdom as a child, she would still be compelled to defend Hyrule.
Yet now, a restless stirring grips the air; silent whispers upon the wind of forthcoming events that are not yet known. The Evil King could sense it. A deep, resonating rumble, almost as if from the collective souls still true to Hyrule and her goddesses. He paces about within his castle's walls, hands clasped behind him as his brow furrows in uneasy thought. What was it, he wondered. What could possibly be coming which would bode such a sensation? His thoughts are briefly interrupted as one of his minions enter the room for a simple query, and he swiftly dismisses them with a brash wave of his hand and an agitated glower, causing the creature to flinch and cower away from his presence. The Gerudo King wished to be left alone.
Breathing out, he now approaches one of the large, stain-glass windows and peers down upon the surrounding landscape before carefully placing a palm to the glass; causing a rippling effect and then producing images from the outside. He searches throughout his kingdom this way for the source of the disruption, hoping to snuff it out quickly whatever it may have been. The ruined kingdom seemed as it should as he searched, however when he turns his attention toward the Temple of Time, he is briefly caught off guard by a distorting barrier of light. He scoffs, amused by the continuing plight of the lone Sage who had focused all his efforts to keep the dark tyrant from infiltrating the Sacred Realm a second time.
“Don't think you can hide things from me so easily,” Ganondorf coos, simply brushing his arm through the air and dispelling the blanketing mask with ease. However, the image presented afterwards, albeit blurry at first, makes the Gerudo man's smirk dissipate into a more compelled expression. It took him a moment to realize why the young man clad in green seemed so familiar to him; memories had flooding back to him about that fateful day so long ago. This was that boy. That foolish boy, who had so graciously granted him passage into the Sacred Realm through his own naivete and chivalry. The Evil King understood now, why energies seemed to be so forthcoming. His suspicions were confirmed the moment he saw the legendary Master Sword so tentatively grasped in the young man's hand. This boy was the supposed fabled hero of legend, come to save Hyrule in its hour of darkness.
His lips curl into a wicked grin as a deep chuckle escapes his throat. Very well, he thought. Let the boy play hero for a little while. Despite his grown appearance, the Hylian was still little more than that naive child who had confronted him all those years ago. After all, he may be of some use to the Gerudo King and his endeavours. Dispelling the looking glass, Ganondorf then calls upon his soldiers whom he had placed the depths of the forest to undermine the rumoured Sage who sleeps there. Based on the conversation he had overheard between the Hylian and the Sheikah, he was certain the boy would head in that direction first.
“Inform the sisters that they shall be having an unexpected guest,” he tells them, “Greet him as you would anyone foolish enough to set foot within the vicinity of the temple.” A smug expression touches his features at the thought. It wouldn't be fair to make things so easy for the boy now, would it? He pauses, the smirk deepening a moment. Perhaps he'd send the Hylian a special greeting himself. Surely it would be a most clever way to remind the boy of his shortcomings. Certain that his loyal servants have heeded his words, Ganondorf leaves them to their tasks. He'd see how Hyrule's 'hero' would fair, at least for now. He resumes his gaze out the window, feeling more of a calm now as he gathers that his victory is just about assured.
“It's been seven years, boy,” he says, “Pray that you are ready.”
Many pardons for sending a reserve ask again, but it's been a couple of days and I'm a bit worried that tumblr ate the last one, so I just wanted to try once more just in case. Personal: the account I am sending this request with. Date: January 30, 2014 Character to Reserve: OoT Ganondorf. Apologies again if this does happen to be a duplicate, I hope you understand.
Ah! Tumblr did indeed eat the ask - thank you much for resending.
The King of Evil has been reserved for you. Please have his application in by February 6th!
