Obsessed with how when a female character isn’t exceedingly feminine/feminine presenting within the text of a show there’s all types of reasons for why that is and why she can actually still be (usually hyper at that) feminine. Surely this is progressive and not indicative of a bigger problem

isnt it interesting how lesbians who are into media with male-dominated casts and are deeply invested in platonic or romantic/sexual relationships between male characters are really not any kind of rarity or outlier. but anyone other than lesbians or bi women being really into media with female-dominated casts and being deeply invested in platonic or romantic/sexual relationships between female characters is a rarity or an outlier. it is almost like there are some sort of structural forces that make mens' stories and feelings a matter of public interest and womens' stories and feelings an afterthought. probably not though i guess it's just an inexplicable result of completely legitimate personal taste that is above critique. oh well.
