As a person who ships luteces to the other person who also ships them, how do you feel about that “problematic” stuff people say about them? I’ve seen so many posts about how lutecest is gross but I totally don’t get why. Firstly, they are only fictional characters, pixels on my screen, not the real people. Secondly, I think people who consider them gross don’t really like themselves. Because I adore myself and if I had an opportunity to have relationship with myself, I solid be the happiest person in the world 🤣

Yeah I feel the same way. It's fiction and those aren't real people and on top of that it's a ship based on a scenario that is simply impossible irl. It's not like it'll cause people to fuck their alternate reality selves lmao.

But a thing that does make me sad is that the current purity culture in fandoms caused people to loose their minds. Forgive my boomer-ism, I'm a fandom auntie, but back in my day everyone(or at least the majority) had their ships and it in no way influenced how everyone treated each other. Now I keep seeing "DNI if you ship A x B" and it boggles my mind. I have friends with vastly different tastes in ships, some that I don't even like(heck even hate!) but that doesn't seem like a valid reason to shun people... over ships no less.

I had to block some bioshock blogs cause they had "lutecest shippers dni" and I wouldn't be surprised if some people have mine blocked for this reason as well. I even saw once a screenshot of a tumblr blog that said they were reporting any lutecest blogs like they were doing the fandom a favor lmao.

The last thing I want is to feel not welcome because I ship some silly pixels. So out with the hate to the trash where it belongs and the rest are welcome to stay 💅✨
